This accommodation does not provide towels. They sell face towels for ¥330 at the counter but they are hopeless for showering. The cafe/bar was closed on Friday night (private hire in the day but didn’t open in the evening). There is plenty of mentions online that the cafe opens for breakfast at 7 AM. I discovered on Saturday morning that they don’t do any food until 11 AM. Takaosanguchi is hopeless for food, especially after 5 PM and before 10 AM, so you will have to rely on convenience stores. It is very difficult to get a proper meal in Takaosanguchi at any time.

部屋でウッとなり、むせ返りました。

カフェは夜８時までの営業で、７時半前に着いたのですが、もう閉店、と言われました。ドリンクのみの希望でしたが。ラストオーダーの時間を書いて欲しいですね。意気消沈し、近くのコンビニに行きました。がっかりした気持ちで部屋に入りましたが、同部屋の外国人の方の体臭が強烈で、非常に不愉快な滞在となってしまいました。交流は大事ですが、部屋は分けてもらえると嬉しかったです。

チェックインが最終時間より20分ほど遅れてしまったのですが、スタッフさんが待っていてくださり、親切に対応していただけました。設備も清潔で快適でした。寝具は簡素でしたが（敷布団は厚さ10センチほどのマットレスのみ、掛け布団は合成繊維の毛布2枚、シーツはマットレス側のみで掛け布団に対してはなし）、私は気になりませんでした

高尾山を満喫するのに、駅もコンビニも近くでとても良かったです。 上のベッドでの宿泊だったので、はしごを登るのに少し緊張しましたが、寝るだけの滞在だったので、とても快適でした。 翌朝は遅い出発だったので、一人でのんびりできるスペースがあってよかったです。

僕の体験が口コミになるかわからないけど今回は五泊六日泊まり二回目のベースキャンプになった。台風の影響で飛行機が欠航なるおそれもあって、予定より二日前倒しにしてもらって泊まったけど柔軟に対応してもらい、初めから連泊のように同じベッドに宿泊できた。安くて清潔で一晩眠ることができる環境としては今回も申し分なかった。もっとも前回は二段ベット二つの四人部屋のドミトリーだったが、今回は10人部屋の外国人の泊まり客も多い部屋だった。僕は用事のあった埼玉県の大宮からここに来たので、夜23時のチェックインになった。フロントには前日に電話してメールを送ることで、当日は夜間の通用口の暗所番号をメールして頂き、枕カバーとシーツとチェックインの記入用紙は僕の泊まるベットに用意してもらった。もうみんな寝入っている様子だったからちょっと気を使ったな。大きな窓の下に物が置けるくらいのスペースがあって各自が適当に荷物を置き乱雑で見苦しさはあった。僕は下のベットだけど僕の目の前のスペースにも誰かのケースがあった。僕は自己完結をモットーに旅しているから自分の荷物は全部自分の部屋になるベッドに持ち込んで左右横に置き、中央で寝た。不思議とベッドの中で座って荷物を整理したり、寝たまま工夫して着替えても天井で頭を打つことはなかった。二段ベッドは別の二段ベッドとくっついていて、カーテンの開け閉めで仕切る入り口のほうの隣同士の壁が窓のように一部突き抜けていて、そこはお互いがカーテンを閉めて仕切っている形式だ。団体のお客が仲間同士で泊まったときに、ベッドから出なくてもカーテンを開ければ隣といつでも意思疎通できる仕組みなんだろう。でも僕の場合は、見知らぬ外国人の女性だった。朝四時に起床する僕が迷惑をかけないようにちょっと気を使ったな。外国人の方はドミトリーの中では夜10時頃とか小さな声で相手と喋ったり、配慮があるような印象を持った。前回みたいに隣から日本人の無配慮な話し声が夜遅く壁から聞こえてくることは一度もなかった。でもエンジン音の鋭い車が道路を夜遅く突き抜ける音はあった。 今回はベースキャンプ内にあるカフェで何か飲んだり食べ物を注文しようかと思っていたものの、その日はどこかの団体が一日中貸し切っていて、今回も利用しなかった。活気のある建設的な喧騒と料理の匂いが上の共用スペースまで上がってきたぐらいだ。きっとカフェの貸切はベースキャンプの重要な収入源になっているのだろう。その日は貸切の影響じゃないとは思うけど、上の泊まり客も多いのか、上がり框のスペースいっぱいに靴やスリッパが散乱していて、これでは階段を上がってきて靴を脱いで上がりにくいし、外出するときも靴を履いて階段のステップに足を置きにくかった。ちゃんと靴箱があるのに、上がり框から階段のステップに降りるスペースに靴を置いたままにする人の神経は理解できない。 雨が強かった日。京王線は高尾山口駅から北野駅が朝から不通になった。普通なら簡単に行けるJR高尾駅までバスで行けるし、ベースキャンプから歩けば20分くらいで着く。近所のセブンイレブンとファミリーマートがある歩道をまっすぐ歩いていけばやがて右手にJR高尾駅が見える。この日夕食をどこで食べればいいか困った。駅近くの温泉施設にある食事処で温泉のあと食べようと思っていたのに雨の影響で午後五時に閉店していた。だから僕はJR高尾駅まで歩いていき、食事処を見つけてそこで夕飯を食べた。お通しからうまかった。田舎野菜となめこ汁、なめこ雑炊が美味しかった。 最終日。ドミトリーに泊まっているのは僕一人だけだった
