This place is beyond beautiful. Quiet, serene but still only 7 minutes from downtown Halifax. Lots of little added touches like scented candles, thick luxurious house coats and towels. Even the soaps, shampoos and lotions are high quality. Watch all the boats go by from your room or from the terrace or even while swimming in the pool which is heated. Ask Eva where the best place to eat supper is. Being a chef, I was sceptical but she was bang on and I went back the second night to try something different and I wasn’t disappointed . This place is a hidden gem. I highly recommend

This was a beautiful bed and breakfast overlooking the the lake and just a short drive to downtown Halifax. Eva and her husband put a lot of care and thought into the ultimate guest experience with relaxation in mind. I enjoyed the heated pool and breakfasts in the morning. I will definitely be coming back again.

Beautiful view

Wonderful B&B with beautiful view of Halifax harbour entrance. Very comfortable with spacious rooms. Friendly owner who provided delicious breakfasts with multiple options to choose from.

Eva, Tom & Eva's mom were outstanding. Beautiful location; comfortable, clean & homey. We loved every minute of it!

Beautiful B&B by the Ocean

Wonderful owner, easy check in, beautifully decorated room, excellent view, free parking, very comfortable bed and pillows, delicious breakfasts. Highly recommend this B&B.

Very beautiful and unique place. Just at the edge of main city with gorgeous views and hiking trails nearby. Will stay here again!

Amazing experience!

What can I say about the Star of the Sea? It was the best ending to our week in Nova Scotia. I have two girls and they fell in love with it, especially the canopy bed and decor. Eva and Tom are exceptional hosts. Eva's mom was also very charming and Chico the cutest dog ever. The breakfast was wonderfully prepared and scrumptious. I cannot recommend this B&B enough.

The views from this B and B are fabulous and there is a wonderful walking path nearby that joins the property. Love the location outside Halifax but still very close and convenient. Breakfasts are delicious especially the crepes. Our suite was very comfortable.

Get out of Town!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Star of the Sea. Eva and Tom were amazing hosts and have made this property an extremely comfortable, well-planned B&B. We enjoyed hearing their stories about the restoration process for this home, and they offered great insight about the Halifax area. Eva is super organized even when the unexpected happens and her breakfast skills are unparalleled. Have the crepes. You’ll never go back to pancakes.

The bed and breakfast is amazing! Our room was beautiful with an amazing view of the ocean. The breakfasts were delicious. Relaxing in the pool was heavenly in the hot weather. Tom and Eva are charming hosts. We will return to this wonderful oasis.

Hidden gem close to the city!

This was our second stay at Star of the Sea. Our expectations were exceeded again with a wonderful stay and delicious breakfasts. My husband and I highly recommend this place to anyone who will listen. A beautiful oasis so close to the highlights of the city and local beaches. Both stays the hosts have been a pleasure, our room has been wonderful, and we have come home refreshed. My only feedback would be that air conditioning would be a great addition, but we were able to remain comfortable during our stay despite the warmer weather. The pool helped with that as well. :)
