This is an excellent hotel located by the station and opposite the best brunch - Mutterland! We had a great stay but my only complaints were that our room was quite dark in the top corner of the hotel and not as spacious as suggested in the photos. Other reviews previously stated the €10 fee for the sauna is waived if you are a Hilton member but this is not true and the hotel is no longer part of this chain so paying €10 each for sauna access per day is very expensive when other hotels include this. Only other criticism was coffee pods not clearly labeled and no milk in room for this. Overall a very comfortable stay with good facilities and it is excellent value for money so I would stay again but would ask for a different location room and if expecting to use the sauna be prepared for the charge

An Absolute Cracker
The hotel is just across from the main train station which suited us as we caught the train from Bremen. It’s such a lovely hotel recently redeveloped I’d say as it was immaculate with so many interesting features. The staff were warm and friendly. We can’t wait to go back.

Great location. A stones throw from central station. Easy if you flew into Hamburg airport. The main restaurant was excellent and had the charm of an old hotel.

This as close to top 5 star hotel as you can get in Europe without paying a fortune. Magnificent old yet totally remodeled hotel. Restoration kept the old luxury theme with modernization throughout. Great service and best location for seeing the great city of Hamburg. The price was very reasonable for what you get and hope that holds.

This is a destination. What a gem lovingly restored with such an amazing history - which we didn't know before we arrived. It is literally 2 minutes walk from Central station. We were given an upgrade upon arrival to a suite that is larger than my terrace house! Everything was beautiful. We didn't eat breakfast there but it sounded amazing too. It's a really central base to place yourself for 1 or two days.

One of the best!
I loved the "feel" of this hotel; it reminded me of the Carlyle in NYC, except the rooms are updated and much nicer. My only criticism was the lack of any english-speaking channels on the TV, and there were no English subtitles available. Otherwise, one of the nicest hotels in Europe.

A very good hotel with good breakfast. The location is convenience that you only walk 3 min to central train station. But there are many policy nearby which imply the area is not really safe.

The hotel always seemed busy which was a good sign. There was an air of opulance from the minute you entered the foyer which would appeal to many guests. If I'm honest it's not my typical hotel as there was an stuffiness which I don't enjoy whilst travelling. Very convenient for the railway station across the road.

We had a wonderful time at this hotel! The people were very nice extremely knowledgeable. The location is convenient. There are lots of dining options. The place is clean the service staff was nice and respectable. We will definitely stay again.
