"Stayed mid-April. It’s a little more rundown than I thought it would be once we got there. It smelled like smoke on my entire floor, even though it was non-smoking. The key cards would never unlock the door until the 5-6th try, and that’s when they were actually working. The AC wasn’t working in the three rooms they tried us in unless we call down at night and had a handyman come up and turn a screw or something every night. Not my favorite hotel to stay at in NYC regardless of price. The staff was pretty accommodating for what they had to work with."

"We really liked this place and would definitely stay here again! We specifically searched for a modern, clean hotel at a reasonable price that also offered free on-site parking for our trip to NYC. Since we were renting a car, the parking situation was a major factor for us, and we quickly found that almost none of the surrounding hotels in Long Island City offered free parking. If they did have parking, it was usually $25–$35 per night and sometimes located off-site several blocks away. The LY Hotel checked every box for us, and we actually enjoyed our stay enough that we extended it from one night to two. The rooms were modern, spotless, and the beds were extremely comfortable. Our first night by chance, was in a handicap-accessible room, which had a noticeably larger bathroom than the standard room we stayed in the second night. The standard bathroom was definitely on the smaller side, so larger guests may find it a bit tight. On a minor note, there were no microwaves in the rooms although I beleive one was available to guests in the lobby and there were no luggage stands in the rooms which are always helpful. What really stood out, though, was how friendly and accommodating the staff was throughout our stay. They made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Overall, the LY Hotel turned out to be an excellent choice for our trip. For the price, cleanliness, free parking, and overall experience, we honestly felt it was one of the best values in the area."

"Wallpaper falling off walls. Bathroom was clean. Toilet paper roll falling off the wall and not functional. TV didn’t work if you were using the coffee pot. Room wasn’t cleaned until we asked. Amenities and parking were $20/day even if you didn’t use them. Unfortunate because it could have been a good stay in an older eclectic building. Staff was very nice when notified though- although they just said there was nothing they could do about it as we booked through hotels.com. Hotels.com should vet their places better and not book out trash. "

"Not fancy, but all good and excellent location within walking distance of MOMA, Central Park, subway, and Broadway plays. Nice sitting room on 2nd floor where our group of 6 ate pizza and played games one night. Empty water bottles available in some halls to fill with filtered water. Would definitely stay here on a future visit."
