Haugesund, Rogaland hotel rooms at the Independent

"Friendly stuff. Clean room. Beautiful area around."

"Dated facility. Clean room, comfortable bed, but no kettle in the room to make tea or coffee. It’s the first hotel we’ve stayed at in Norway that didn’t offer that. No mini frig in room. We asked about using their sauna, but were told it’s out of order indefinitely as when it’s turned on it sets off the fire alarm. We were very underwhelmed with the meals. Dinner was very bland with very limited choices. Breakfast wasn’t the best either. Several things set out to choose from in small dishes that were unidentifiable for us. Most hotels label the food choices so you know what it is. Nothing walkable from the hotel for other restaurant choices. I’d suggest finding another hotel instead of this one. "

"Really enjoyed everything about this hotel which made staying in a hotel a pleasure. From the comfortable lobby to the afternoon tea and coffee, this is what travel should be all about."

"Location near main bus terminal was helpful for getting around. Bathroom was strange but clean. Stayed in the dorm styled room with bunk beds. The weather wasn’t great but still had a good stay. "

"We enjoyed our one night stay at Scandic Hotel in Haugesund. Staff was very friendly and helpful! The room was as expected and bed comfortable. Room was quiet. Breakfast was excellent! Such a variety and many fresh options! The area of town was plain, and for some reason there are multiple Thai massage businesses nearby, but easy to walk to the waterside and main shopping street. Overall, would recommend for an economical and pleasant stay."

"Did not realize that no staff and was self service. Needed cell phone service to communicate with the staff. We had only a data plan. "

"Our stay was great at the Aksdal Inn Motel! The woman who was working there was so lovely, keeps the place immaculately clean and tidy and served a great free breakfast too. All round a pleasant stay at the motel, a beautiful lake walk just a minute down the road, would stay again for sure! "
