"This inn is in a very convenient location- it’s very central. Easy cab or Uber ride from the station, or easy enoigh to take a bus. 5 minutes from Kenrokuen. Be aware this is a Japanese style inn with shared toilet facilities and a shared Japanese style bathroom. The shower / bath is open each evening but not in the morning. The bathroom door does lock so you do have privacy. The innkeeper and family live on site and are very welcoming and friendly. We were allowed to leave our luggage for a short time after check out. They were also helpful witj specific restaurant recommendations. If you want a genuine Japanese ryokan"

"It‘s a bit of the beaten path and not fancy but the staff is super friendly and helpful. If you get a room looking out over the lake you can see Mt Fuji from your bed if it’s not hiding."

"Hotel was conveniently situated close to the train station. Room was clean and spacious by Japanese standards. We got a room with a birds-eye view of Mt Fuji and were lucky to get a clear view in the middle of the summer. Breakfast was excellent, too."
