What a fantastic stay at Africamps Mackers in Hazyview. Not only is the location breathtaking, but the accommodation is perfectly crafted for a glamping experience. It had everything we needed. We had the best time and are definitely Africamp fans.

Family Fun

It was a fun packed holiday with lots of adventure. Make sure to pack a lot of supplies as you would not want to drive in and out to often. Hike was brilliant and river looked amazing. Road to the campsite needs a bit of work. Great place for family time.

The place is amazing, jumping into the pool in the evening, Braai at night... Just the feeling of being in the mountains and not having to deal with mosquitos and snakes

Glamping at its best

I spent a night at Mackers on our way back from the Kruger Park and what a thoroughly delightful experience it was. From the warm welcome from Romeo to the personal check from the owner, Ryan, the entire experience was flawless. I loved the high quality finishes and extras like electric blankets, good quality linens and duvets and found the honesty shop a great convenience because we arrived after hours. I have no hesitation in recommending it. I traveled in a regular sedan and was a little apprehensive about how appropriate the vehicle might be during the rainy season but I have been assured that that would not be a problem. Hint: insect repellant might be useful at night as the camp is situated next to a river.

Serenity on the Sabie River

From the pictures on Tripadvisor and their own website, Africamps at Mackers looked quite nice, hence my decision to select it for our long-weekend away. It completely exceeded my expectations though! We had the best weekend and staying at this gorgeous "glamping" spot was the highlight of our visit to the Lowveld. The tents boast all modern amenities one may want, but best of all, they are all situated right on the banks of the Sabie River. It is such a beautiful, tranquil setting that we opted not to go out for any meals and rather have it right at "home" as no restaurant in the area could beat this location! I would highly recommend this place for families as there is so much for kids to do, but it is an equally attractive option for couples.

This property was amazing! The tents were spacious and had everything we could need. The grounds were beautiful with the river, pool, and small herb garden we could help ourselves to. Our only regret is that we booked 1 night. Next time we will definitely be staying longer!

geen drinkbaar water

leuk verblijf aan rivier, goed uitgeruste tenten met basic keukentje, elke tent heeft buitenbbq, houtskolen en aanmaakblokjes kopen in winkeltje bij tenten, proper, geen muskietennet, geen drinkbaar water, afwas doe je met water opgepompt uit de rivier... s ochtends ontwaken rond 04:30h door vogels en andere dieren, warme douche liet het bij momenten afweten, waarschijnlijk moest de boiler opnieuw warm water maken, we bestelden onbijt en bbq, matige kwaliteit voor hetgeen ervoor betaald werd, zeker het vlees van de BBQ kon beter

Fun “glamping” experience

Super fun experience. Able to stay right on the river and wake up to the sounds of the river flowing. Leave for the day and see everything we wanted to see, then finish the day with a cold beer and fire going on the river.

Deep in the nature, just besides a river. Clean and seemed new. Everything you need is in the tent(kitchen, shower, toilet, beds, etc.) Staff was friendly. All the beds have a electric blanket so don't need to be worried about low temperature over night. But be alert to mosquitos maybe around you.
