Not a lot of things were open when we got there later in the evening; if you are on foot, getting there from the Ijmuiden rail station is tricky. Not a lot of cabs want to come and get you. โThis hotel is lovely! The staff were all so kind and treated us very well. There is free coffee and juice in the lobby which was a nice surprise. Beds are very spacious and the AC was a godsend in the August heat. The only thing that is tricky is that the Zaandam train station is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel, and the area is not very well lit. โIt is far from central amsterdam and air port but people who works in a hotel were very very nice. They offer free shuttle bus and area is very safty and cozy. No elevator but they helped carry our luggages.Very old style but clean. Only one bad thing was bathtub. They need to replace it. โ
