Good basic hotel

A short walk from Käpylä station to the hotel. Nice and quiet neighbourhood. Rooms were clean. Pretty comfy beds. Friendly staff. Check out time nice at 12 so no need to rush to get up/out. Breakfast not great quality (hot foods), but had lots of variety. Not great for big heavy suitcases, lots of steps and doorways where need to lift the suitcase. So not super accessible. In summer take earplugs, there is some kind of a machine at the courtyard that is super noisy in the night, but in summer you need to keep the windows open because it's too hot. With earplugs you can sleep well. Otherwise the hotel is quiet.

I had a room close to what sounded like the heating system, as I could hear the burner starting up / running, I guess that I just drew the short straw. But it was only a low level soun so didn't wake me up. The entrance hall and stairwell looked in need of repainting and the mat at the entrance looked very worn. But actually it was quite comfortable and the breakfast offering was quite varied. So once you got past the first impressions it was quite comfortable. It is also only a short walk from a station on the line from the airport to the city centre .

Very friendly and sweet personnel who met you. The cleaning in the room could be much better. There were big holes in the thin duvets inside the bedding so they really need a replacement, the room could also use a up date, but there was what you needed, and nice to have a small fridge in the room. The food in the restaurant ok, but could be better, we like our bacon crispy, not soft, can be cultural. :) Ate there in the evening also as previously written, the food is ok, but nothing special. resturan out dated on the look, but ok, (probably had to be renovated at the end of our stay but didn't get to experience it before we went home). The hotel is in a nice walking distance to the tram, bus and train, so nice and easy to get to city ​​center in 20-30 min. For the price we paid for the stay we are satisfied but new duvets are a must. We would love to come again. will give it 2 stars out of 5.

Over the years Park Hotel has begun to lose its shine. There is a bit of a shabby tinge these days. (I have been using this hotel since the 90’s when out Finnish teachers’ union used to offer significant discounts.) the hotel’s location, however, is convenient.

Well it was as i expected but location was good for city and airport.Helsinki is expensive and this hotel is expensive for what it is.Good breakfast friendly staff.tv was not working safe deposit box key pad broken hotel gave us a master key so that was ok. Sauna only open in the morning pool useless. .

A bit different experience

It was abit suureal, as the hotel had ni lights on when I arrived (technical reasons with wires---it happens!), so check in was with flashlights and there was not much to doi in te room without any light...but they were polite, breakfast was quite okey. Parking nearby---not too much space available.

When I arrived I was told I would have to wait in reception whilst the receptionist visited my room, most unusual. On day one I advised reception that my TV was not working, someone was despatched to my room to rectify the problem, they were unable to do so. I was told that I could not have a room change, however I was told that my TV would be replaced the next day. The hotel failed to change my TV. I was however supported very well by Tamnit Gill who kindly moved me to a new room.
