"Thoughtful, friendly receptionists, cheerful serving staff, room had a beautiful view and was clean. No complaints other than old cobwebs in the swimming pool windows and pool was crowded and noisy due to kids swimming lessons, which cut the useable area of pool to half"
"Staff were brilliant, rooms have been let go from a maintenance point of view. Food was tasty but very over priced, especially the breakfast. Would have made a complaint if I’d had to pay £18 for that had it not been included with the nights stay. Drinks reasonably priced though."
"When I arrived, there was no one at reception and I had to wait quite some time before a staff member returned to check me in. I was also disappointed to find that the health club had already closed upon my arrival at 8:15pm, despite the website stating it closes at 9pm.
Later that evening, at around 10:30pm, the same staff member entered my room without knocking while I was in the bathroom. When I asked what they wanted, they asked for my name and then stated that the room was supposed to be empty. I explained that there had clearly been a mistake, as they had personally checked me in earlier. They then left without apologising.
I found the situation quite strange and raised it with the staff member on duty the following morning, but they appeared completely uninterested.
Room and whole hotel in general is pretty dated and not particularly clean.
Wouldn’t stay here again or recommend it unfortunately!"
"The hotel is situated in beautiful surroundings and we were lucky to be given a stone cottage apartment with outside decking overlooking the pond and grounds. Beautiful! The staff were all very pleasant but overstretched and and quite stressed at times. Breakfast was good but didn't run smoothly. The restaurant food and service was very good. The pool and spa were really lovely and the gym looked amazing.
Don't rely on trying to get a taxi anywhere. Our main reason for staying here was to visit family for a birthday party. The hotel rang for a taxi twice and nothing turned up. We waited for a full hour and ended up having to drive. Fortunately me managed to get a taxi back but it was expensive.
Lovely place to stay in , would be even better if they weren't trying to run on minimal staff .
We would stay again because of the location and facilities."
