โWe wanted a relaxing and peaceful holiday with a pool and view and good service. This hotel didnโt disappoint us.
There are only six rooms so the service was personal and exceptional.
The hotel is located at the quieter end of the Hikkadawa stretch of beach which suited us. The livelier bars and hotels were only a short walk away too.
There are buses every five minutes just outside that took us to the Tsunami museum one day and Galle Fort another for about 50p each, each way. Great fun and...

โFor us 33 Lake Terrace was the nicest hotel we stayed at during our time in Sri Lanka. The hotel is beautifully designed, the location at the lake is so peaceful and beautiful - simply amazing. On top of this Mr Panduka and the entire staff were exceptional, very discreet but always available and just very nice. โThe owner/host and housekeeping staff were very friendly and nice to talk to. They can arrange tuk tuk for the guests and home style food was so delicous. Due to its location, guests will need to have insects repellent spray applied at all time. Overall very nice stay at villa birdlake. โ

โReally enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Staff were really really nice and helpful!! Very pleasant to talk to!! Modern and clean!! Small balcony! Very central on the Main Street! About 10 minutes walk to beach! Only downside is that there is no bar! In saying that there are plenty of places nearby that have beer! Breakfast was excellent!! Would definitely stay here again โ

This is typical old Hotel. The building is old and the technology (water, electricity ) is old, but all works. Situation in the city is excellent; near centrum, on the beach. Good bed to sleep and the sound of waves is soothing. Good beakfast and the limits from food allergy were well taken into account. And also very early mornig breakfast when needed was possible. We liked. โ
