While I was taking this picture a deer was going through my camera bag and heading off down the beach with one of my filter holders. A fantastic island for photographers and tourists in general and well worth an overnight visit if you're going to Hiroshima, as it's only an hour away, and free to get to if you're on a JR rail pass.

Nice rooms, very friendly and helpful staff. We had breakfast and lunch there, both were delicious. There was no private shower in our rooms but the shared shower / bath was very nice and clean.

The breakfast was amazing (I chose the Japanese style) and the lady that prepared it (and checked me in) was super nice and accommodating. The tubs were great to soak in and it was nice to have the privacy (the bath room smelled a little mildewy, but that’s to be expected in a wooden room with high humidity). I Would definitely stay again.

We had a wonderful time at this lovely Ryokan. The hostess was extremely friendly and helpful. We took advantage of the onsen each night and had no problem with access. Breakfast was phenomenal! 10/10. Would highly recommend. Also everything was spotlessly clean.

What a wonderful and authentic Japanese experience. The hosts made us both feel extremely welcome and accommodated despite the language barrier. The Japanese style keiseki breakfast and dinner were outstanding both in taste and general experience. Thoroughly recommend for those who want a true Ryokan experience. The private onsen was also outstanding to say the least.

Absolutely wonderful!

My stay at Ryosaino Oyado Mizuhaso was wonderful! The hosts were all very nice, the room was comfortable, and the food was absolutely delicious. Both meals had so many components, it was so much fun to try everything! The private bath was also very nice after hiking up the mountain that day. It was also a very short, easy walk to this place from the shopping area. I would definitely stay here again!

The guest house staff were very friendly and helpful however we arrived on a very wet day and everything closed on the island so getting any dinner was not possible. The hot tub was magnificent and the Japanese breakfast excellent. Our room was very comfortable as well.

Wonderful, traditional, small hotel with onsen located at the shuttle stop for the aquarium. Choice of Japanese or Western breakfast - choose Japanese, an experience not to be missed! Hotel is just steps from views of the O-Tori Gate and a nice walk into the shopping/ferry area. Only downside is that by 5:00pm, everything in the nearby area is closed and shuttered so plan accordingly.

Staff are super kind and helpful. I arrived a bit past 7, but they still honored my dinner reservation. The food is fantastic and both dinner and breakfast were my best meals in Japan so far. The bath is also wonderful, especially after walking and hiking all day. I’d definitely stay here again when I visit Miyajima!

Lovely place on Miyajima away from the busy shopping area but not a far walk from the terminal, maybe 15 minutes and still very accessible to the main shopping street, itsukashima shrine, the rope way all the good stuff if still less than 5-10 minutes walking distance. Very clean, lovely bath and shower facilities very nice after a long day of walking. The people who run it are incredibly sweet and you can see they truly care about your experience. Couldn’t give it higher praise!

This guesthouse (ryokan) is a little off the main tourist track on Miyajima Island but that is its advantage since it does not suit in a sea of people all day long. It's still close to the main places. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the stylish bathroom. And the food was fresh and delicious. Recommended.

Excellent Japanese style breakfast included 👍. Very quiet environment. Extremely comfortable bedding. Very roomy baths. Very good ryokan experience. Miyajima is quiet during off season so beware of the fact that it gets dark early and many close by restaurants were closed (early?). The shopping area near the small ferry building stays open and we were happy to have found a few restaurants that were opened for business after 5 pm. We had a great oyster dinner at Kakiya.

Quite a distance from the ferry terminal, be prepared to walk about 15 minutes. Not recommended to have a luggage with you. On the flip side, area is nice and quiet with minimal footfall. Excellent breakfast and friendly staff. Shower and bath facility is shared, but the door can be locked when in use.
