Beautiful, new property conveniently located on the beach. This peaceful hotel was perfect for my parent’s anniversary trip. Although there wasn’t a wide variety of local cuisine (as with most upscale resorts), the available options exceeded expectations.
I really enjoyed this resort. Very clean and well kept. The only thing I didnt lime was they were out of alot of different foods so we didn't get the full experience and some restaurants weren't open. The
staff was great and very friendly.
The hotel is a very beautiful hotel . Staff are very friendly. However my only issue was the food.. they didnt have alot of items that was from the menu. This happened several times during my six day stay.
The resort was beautiful, the staff were welcoming, great and friendly. Views were amazing. Between the performances also daily activities Royalton kept us busy the days we were on the resort. Restaurants were good the only down side to that was only having two restaurants open at dinner time. As a diamond club member our expectations were met , we would have preferred a different butler though ours wasn’t very attentive however other butlers stepped in another downside was that when it rained it ruined a good portion of the main lobby space where we hung out for performances ,overall we had a great time would definitely stay at the newly opened Royalton Vessence again. Great time ,great stay.
Beautiful property with amazing staff. However, there is not much to do entertainment wise as the property. Everything closed by midnight. One night of our stay everything shut down at 11pm due to them being short staffed. Every evening they ran out of premium liquor. Service was EXTREMELY slow. I explicitly stated several times in my reservation that my husband and I were visiting for our honeymoon. No special accommodations/upgrades or recognition was provided. The hotel was operating at under 30 percent capacity.
This is a beautiful and spotlessly clean resort, but it currently suffers from low-occupancy growing pains. At 23% capacity, you never have to fight for a pool chair, but the downsides are noticeable. Entertainment is minimal—there is no theater, and the lobby music/entertainment wraps up early, leaving the resort silent by 10:00 PM. Food and drink options also suffered; the kitchens frequently ran out of basics, and the liquor was strictly sub-premium. It has great potential, but I suggest waiting six months to a year for them to get it together.
We had a wonderful stay at the Royalton! Our room and the entire property were clean and well maintained, and the view from our room was beautiful. The beach was also very nice, with minimal panhandlers trying to sell things, which made it easy to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
The only area that could use some improvement was the service speed. Food and drinks were a little slow at times, both in the restaurants and with butler service. That said, the resort was fairly quiet this time of year, which we actually really enjoyed. It made the whole experience feel more peaceful and relaxing.
The complimentary hydrotherapy session was a great bonus and definitely something we appreciated. This was my fiancé’s first time out of the country, and he absolutely loved the experience, which made the trip even more special for us.
Overall, we had a great stay and would definitely come back to the Royalton..or visit others!
We arrived on Monday our room was not ready til 4. Due to issues with room service, There was no water due to issues before we arrived. They did not inform us before hand. I’m standing in the shower no water is how I found out. It retuned in the evening. Our refrigerator was not stocked, and we received no room service til Wednesday at 6 pm since Monday that we arrived. Due to low staff for room service other guests had commented as well. My husband had to hunt down room service for toilet paper.
The staff that as available were amazing they really tried to make up for the issues. Except for one woman very nasty, had some attitude issue she was very condescending, The premises were beautiful the pool was very clean and the beach as well. The food I rate a 3 out of 5 I would have liked to see more seafood on the menus. They did have events on the premise which were fun, they had pottery classes, painting, and more. We went to celebrate our 26 wedding anniversary, we were not acknowledged, nor gifted anything dispite numerous time my husband mentioned it. It was all inclusive. Would I go again, probably not.
This is a really nice resort. I stayed here within its first month open. It was so worth it. Everything was modern and chic. My room was large and spacious with an ocean view. One of the staff members told me that I had the best room on the resort! I agreed, I could see everything from my room! The food was phenomenal, especially the steakhouse and the restaurant near the beach. Room service could use work but it didn’t bother me too much as I was Diamond Club and my butlers were top notch! The Spa? OMG the spa was niceee lol. Enjoyed the hydrotherapy and the rooftop infinity pool. The service and attention that I received is out of this world! The staff were absolutely amazing and super accommodating. I do not have anything to complain negatively about regarding my stay. Hello to all of the Jesse’s in the Diamond Club checking me in - they were so welcoming! Ria in housekeeping was so pleasant and a breath of fresh air! However, the stars of the show were my butlers Waneisha and Kianna! OMG these girls! Absolutely amazing! They make Royalton look GOOD! Waneisha was my absolute angel and she knows why! Thank you so much Waneisha you are EVERYTHING! SO TEAAAA!! Thanks to my wonderful butler Kianna who was absolutely amazing on my birthday and to all of the ladies who decorated my room - I felt so loved and cared for! I had the best experience celebrating my birthday at Royalton Vessence Barbados - I will be back soon!!
I really enjoyed my stay at the Royalton and would definitely return. The staff were friendly, and the food was very good overall. The only disappointment was the Hunters Steakhouse. There were long wait times, confusion with orders, the food was served cold, and there was no bread provided at the tables.
We also experienced one night without cold water, which meant we couldn’t take showers, and the toilet would not flush. Fortunately, this was only a temporary issue.
The guests were also very friendly and inviting, which made the trip joyful.
Despite these inconveniences, I had a wonderful stay. The friendly service, good food, and overall experience made it a trip worth repeating. I look forward to returning.
Our stay at the Royalton Vessence Barbados was absolutely amazing. They didn’t have all restaurants open and I kind of expected that as they had only been open for a couple weeks prior to us coming. However, they did an amazing job at rotating which places would be open at a time. The food was great. The staff is extremely attentive. - thank you , Jessie & Kaleifa for taking such care of our every little need! There was another young lady that we always had as a waiter and I wish I could remember her name because she was amazing also! I would definitely return here for a stay again. I felt safe and cared for. THEE absolutely only thing I had a problem with was our mattress. It was a little uncomfortable, but other that —- I looooooved our stay!

I would like to begin by recognizing the staff, who were exceptionally professional, welcoming, and attentive throughout our stay. The food was consistently very good, and our two butlers, Kaleifa and Jessie, were truly the highlight of our experience. Their dedication, professionalism, and genuine care went above and beyond, and they deserve tremendous recognition.
My husband and I chose this resort for our honeymoon and were excited to visit Barbados for the first time. We specifically booked the Diamond Club package; however, many of the advertised benefits were unavailable. Our room had a persistent musty odor, our "preferred" view overlooked the rooftop pool wall, the rooftop elevator was frequently out of service, and limited restaurant availability reduced our dining options. We were ultimately approved for a refund of the Diamond Club upgrade.
Unfortunately, our experience with Nexus Excursions was equally disappointing, with two excursions canceled due to overbooking and poor communication. While refunds were approved, the experience fell far below expectations.
Although the property is beautiful and the staff exceptional, the resort does not appear fully prepared to operate at the level being advertised. First impressions matter, and regrettably, we will not be returning.
Although we were very disappointed that alot of the restaurants weren't open and the wait for food was loooong, we had a fabulous time! Stayed in the Chairman 2 bedroom suite, it was stunning! Colby, Javier, Rachelle, Nicolai and the entire staff went above and beyond!
We stayed for 3 nights. The staff were incredibly helpful and welcoming. The spa was excellent, the hydrotherapy pools are wonderful, the room was clean and spacious, the beach was beautiful. My only complaint was the long wait for meals at all the restaurants. However on our last night we had dinner at the French restaurant and the food was lovely and the wait time was much improved. Also on our last day there was a lunch buffet set up in the Italian restaurant which offered a wonderful variety to choose from. Overall it was a great experience.
Most staff were professional. They seem excited about this resort, which opened at the beginning of the month. Some spa amenities, the hydrotherapy pools, were not working properly. Additionally, there are kinks, if you will, that need to be ironed out as this resort prepares for busy season. For instance, I was not placed in the room I had paid for because I reserved through Expedia (at least, I was told this); some amenities were not provided, reflecting a lack of consistent knowledge among staff; the same dish was ordered on several different days but the ingredients were never consistent and orders not always correct; and housekeeping sometimes skipped service or did not replenish, e.g., towels when they did come; in-room amenities were not in all rooms or provided at all. Service at times was painfully slow even at >25% capacity.
There’s plenty of beach and poolside furniture and use was, for now, available first come, first served. Beaches in Barbados are public and locals will offer excursions to beach goers.
It is an adults-oriented property. Entertainment was generally low-key/energy but loud if an early to bedder.
In all, this is a beautiful resort with gorgeous appointments and art in the main areas, along with a generally friendly, accommodating staff. Mikketa, Rushell, Terry, Brandon, Desiree, and Shaniece, to name a few, always remembered faces and interactions. Mikketa and front desk staff worked to resolve concerns. As a solo traveler, this was welcomed.
Our first trip to Barbados and we chose the Royalton Essence. Its a brand new resort and so we got a big discount for coming during soft launch. The report is amazing with beautiful rooms and a swimable beach great for snorkeling. The staff are the highlight of the resort. The people are amazingly friendly and they go above and beyond to make the experience enjoyable. There is entertainment throughout the day and at night. Everyone we met had a great time. We will be back!
I loveeeeed the resort. All the staff were so nice and accommodating. The nightly entertainment was excellent. The only thing I’ll say is the food takes a little long to get to the table BUT once you get it it’s absolutely delicious every time.
Food is terrible. No flavor the hunter restaurant we waited an hour and 20 minutes for our food. They have one headset and he is a chef over all the restaurant they need more workers.
Breathtaking views and amazing staff at this newly-opened resort. Visited for the Grand Opening to celebrate a milestone birthday, and chose a swim-out room! Because of the opening, some of the amenities were not available. The staff were amazing (kind, respectful, and eager to help) although they were still learning (which was understandable). The food choices were adequate and leave some area for improvement for taste, but all-in-all this was a wonderful experience with the beach and pool amenities, as well as the amazing artfully-inspired entertainment, and water activities, including snorkeling, and hydro-aerobics.
We stayed 6 nights (August 21st-August 27th) as Diamond Club members. From the second we arrived, we felt like we could exhale! We felt like we were on vacation immediately. We received professional, attentive service and check-in was pretty quick and seamless. Our Butlers (Michael, Chaddo, and Taneah) were excellent!! They were always available and responsive and addressed everything we asked for. But I want to also acknowledge that all the staff we encountered on the resort were super nice and helpful. The food at the resort was good! It's true only 2 of the 4 restaurants were open each night - but you can only eat at one at a time anyway. We really liked Kai Asian Fusion as our favorite. The beach was AMAZING! Beautiful. It is big enough and there are plenty of lounge chairs and beach service is very decent. The water is clear, warm and there is excellent snorkeling right at our beach (a lot of boat tours come and dock in the water in front of the resort to let snorkelers do their thing because it’s such a good spot). The roof pool and main level pool were very nice as well. The nighttime entertainment was pretty good but ends early. The weather was fantastic - hot, but not humid. It is a 1-minute walk into Holetown and there are great places to explore and lots shopping, a grocery store is like a 5 minute walk. We ate at Tides in town our last night - and it was so good and so memorable. The only thing I would say is that the Royalton could improve is
