“Because of our timing we weren’t able to partake in food at the hotel at either end of the day. Unfortunate as the breakfast has always been great, Our room was cool which given the ridiculous heat, was amazing. The staff, as always were courteous and professional. We will continue to use this venue on our overnight stays in the Reading area.”

“There are not enough superlatives to describe this hotel and its incredible grounds! The food was Excellent - better than the Michelin * restuarants I have been to recently in London and Venice. The grounds are spectacular - all 66 acres of them and its worth visiting just for this alone. The bedrooms are very nice and confortable. We had an Orangery suite which has Aircon. The Main house rooms do not. The staff were superb! Expecially compared to some other much more expensive hotels...

“This is a beautiful old house that has been made into a hotel. It looks and feels like it has a lot of history. It is a lovely tranquil place. Clean rooms. Comfortable bed. Wifi in the room and common areas. They do nice homemade pizza's, with a good selection of toppings. There is a small bar. The breakfast is self serve, nice food. The staff are friendly, polite, and helpful. I would stay here again when in the area. ”

“Stayed for one night en-route to my conference. Was pleasantly surprised. Very well run and maintained. Super friendly staff, room had all the necessary amenities and comfort.”

“Very comfortable stay. Room was quiet even though bar and restaurant are obviously popular. Amenities also included a hair dryer (which the listing didn't mention), magnifying mirror, tea/coffee and biscuits. Good internet signal. Would recommend. ”
