"Lovely the staff, the breakfast is incredible, great view from the roof terrace. Location is exceptional too. The window (city side) was not very sound proof, the room was quite small and they could do with some showers or an area to wash off the sand from the beach before going into the hotel. Also a drinking water fountain - the jugs at reception were always empty. "

"The view of Copacabana Beach was spectacular! The view of the city and even Sugar Loaf in the distance. Roof top bar/restaurant very nice too, right next to the infinity pool. We had room 2007 on the 20th floor. Breakfast buffet excellent too! Lots of items."

" I stayed at the Regency Copacabana Hotel in Rio de Janeiro from March 3–9, 2026, and unfortunately had a very concerning experience. During my stay in Room 908, I discovered bedbugs in the bed and have photos documenting them. By the time I realized the issue, I had already been bitten from head to toe. After reporting the problem, I was moved to Room 1108. The front desk staff were polite, but they seemed largely unconcerned about the seriousness of the situation and I was offered no compensation. Bedbugs are a serious sanitation issue and in my opinion the entire hotel should be inspected and treated by a professional pest management company. While the hotel’s location is convenient and close to Copacabana Beach and many restaurants, I would not recommend staying here until the property has been fully inspected and treated for pests. "
