Wow! The pictures online do not do this resort justice. The staff was amazing. The food was spectacular. The entire island was beautiful and such a treat to explore. Will definitely be back, but in my absence definitely treat yourself to this amazing experience!

Beautiful resort on a stunning island. Staff went above and beyond, accommodation was SENSATIONAL, food was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend. Dorothy is a lovely lady and when we left it felt like we were leaving family. We'll be back!

Incredibly beautiful grounds and very kind staff. The layout and rooms are gorgeous and well laid out. Very private. On-site all inclusive dining is a breeze and most meals are very tasty. The travel to and from the airport or activities is seamless.

Throughout my 18-day journey, the staff made us feel like the resort was exclusively designed for us, ensuring our utmost comfort and satisfaction. The resort's grounds provide breathtaking views of the ocean and Vanua Levu, with unforgettable sunset vistas from every room, villa, bure, and dinner table. The bure was cleaned daily, and the outdoor shower added a touch of luxury. Relaxing on covered lounges overlooking the waters was tranquil. Taveuni Island resort is a rare gem. Set in incredible gardens with stunning views over the bay it offers the most relaxing holiday possible. The food was amazing - a choice each day from a set menu made from local produce from their farm. The small staff were super friendly and helpful - there was a tear in our eyes as we left. There are lots of lovely walks to waterfalls on the island well worth doing. And the scuba/snorkeling opportunities unparalleled. Highly recommend TIR.

The Resort sits on a hill overlooking the ocean, just a few minutes drive from the Matai airport. Free transportation is included. It looks like the set from a tropical movie. We had a HUGE secluded villa with private patio, comfortable king bed, indoor and outdoor showers, coffee and tea, fridge. All meals were included with a different menu daily and options for all diets (including vegetarian). Everything we had was fresh made, used local produce, and delicious! A small infinity pool overlooks the sea as well. Snorkel gear is provided at no additional cost. But the staff is what makes this place special! They were always ready to assist with a smile, and almost anticipated our desires. They advised us about local places to trek, swim, snorkel, and visit, and arranged our tours and transportation. They even served our dinner in our villa at our request. The expat Kiwi owners, Ric and Do, are famed scuba divers and live on-site, and it was fun to talk with them. We did the Lavena coastal walk, which we highly recommend. Wear your swim suit to visit the falls and cross rivers, and plan on a full day. We also snorkeled with Julie at Taveuni Ocean Sports, and visited the International Date Line (a geek's must-do!). Went into the main town, but not much there. One caution. Taveuni, and most of Fiji, as cash only. Aside from our Resort bill, we needed cash for taxis and local tourist sites, but there is no ATM or EFTPOS machine. Plan on your expenses and bring cash.

We had the best time here! The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They cook your breakfast, lunch, and dinner (you can choose between two options) and everything was delicious! The villa was very nice and we felt very relaxed

Lovely property with much deferred maintenance. No air conditioning in main sleeping area and it got very hot at night. Owner forgot or neglected to try an fix when notified and no one could fix second day. Not a luxury resort and past its prime.

This is without doubt one of the most special places we have ever stayed. Service was special from owners and staff. Food was outstanding, Rooms large and beds very comfortable, and the views truly outstanding.

Beautiful property with great staff. Not a huge mega resort which we liked. WiFi is limited on the island in general but wouldnt stop us from returning.

This a beautiful property and the staff are beyond excellent especially our host Storm, Margarite in housekeeping, Eleanor, Percy, Maku and owners Do and Rick. Restaurant staffers Meme and Mary are delightful. Sunil, the chef has magic hands. Don't miss his fish in lolo sauce. It's to die for. The staffers made our trip special. One thing we had a difficult time with was the resort running out of fuel for their generator on the last night we were there so we had to turn down the AC and fan, and survive Taveuni's humidity while sleeping. All electricity went out after midnight. We come from a place where constant temperature is between 19C-22C. We were up for most of the night dripping in sweat. Given the price we paid for the hotel, we expected better. Other than that, the staff are excellent. I would pack bottled waters. One thing you need to get used to is that everyone leaves their villas open (no key). Coming from a western nation, I had a hard time getting used to this. We had a lovely time in Taveuni Island Resort. The owners and staff made us feel very welcome. It was an absolute delight to be amongst them.

Where do we begin? This resort is amazingly magical! The staff became our family. They are all so sweet and thoughtful. We became fast friends! This may have been our first visit but it will not be our last. The food was so delicious! They even thru a birthday party for me…it was out of this world. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate another trip around the Sun. The excursions were so fun!! We hiked up to a waterfall where we experienced the most amazing view. We went horse back riding in a local village. We went to a Pearl farm where I snorkeled - I saw a squid, a sea cucumber and a giant clam! I went scuba diving at the purple reef. We went to honeymoon island and snorkeled - saw blue starfish and the most amazing coral. We also went into town, and I bought a traditional Fijian dress that I wore to a local party. It was the most amazing experience all around. It will only be a matter of time before we return! To everyone at the resort, venaka!

Fijian Paradise
We stayed at Taveuni Island Resort for 4 nights in February off-season and had the entire resort to ourselves! Staying in the extremely spacious bungalow overlooking the ocean with every comfort imaginable, provided with 3 amazing meals daily made with fresh ingredients from the resort’s organic farm, we had excellent massages, a fantastic day trip to the Tavoro waterfalls in Bouma National Park and swam in the most perfect cliff side pool with a priceless view of the beach & ocean below! It just doesn’t get any better....management has perfected every single detail!

If you are looking for a place to stay, where everything is immaculately clean, the food is plentiful and sumptuous and the staff unbelievably friendly and obliging then Taveuni Island Resort and Spa is the place for you. We came as strangers and left as family. I couldn't recommend more highly.

Truly exceptional experience!
The pictures of the hotel you see on the web do not do it justice at all. The room was large and beautiful with tons of windows / glass doors opening out to your terrace where you could see the ocean and islands. The food was wonderful and the staff treated you like you were the only guests there and knew you by name. They went out of their way for us. I would love to go back someday. It was paradise.

Staff and view out of this world
This resort was a little out of our budget but am so glad we gave it a chance. What makes it special is the small staff who truly takes care of you. They are like a family who have all worked there for many years so that shows a lot. The view and food was top notch. The beach isn’t really a “beach” you would suspect but the infinity pool is better to watch the waves and sunset from. Make sure to do both waterfalls and the coastal hike in addition to rainbow reef! We would stay again and after three weeks in Fiji this is the prettiest part we saw ! The reviews don’t lie!

An amazing resort that you need to experience.
My wife and I chose this resort for our honeymoon and we couldn't have been happier with our decision. We are already contemplating when we should return. This is a beautiful resort with amazing views and the villas are just beautiful. The owners and the staff work so hard to keep this place immaculate and wonderful. We never felt so relaxed before on a vacation. Because this is a small resort, the staff is able to provide incredibly personal service and works so hard to ensure you are comfortable and have a memorable time. They are always smiling and laughing, truly great people. We can't say thank you enough for how kind and amazing everyone here is. Everyone works in sync to make sure you have a great time. During breakfast, employees would see how you are doing and speak to you about the various activities available, answer any questions you have, and schedule them out for you while arranging with the kitchen to make sure lunch was packed (for those all day excursions) and ensuring you had transportation and guides for those hikes or snorkeling trips. The guides were amazing, friendly, and made for an unforgettable experience during our trips. The food here amazing, fresh, and filling. I swear it rivals some of the best restaurants here in Boston. We highly recommend this place and promise you won't be disappointed!

For a remote island get-a-way, this place is hard to beat. Laid back, wonderful staff, excellent meals, fantastic scuba diving.
