The property is amazing! Has all the amenities and wonderful spa on site. Food was delicious! Had to pay extra but the horseback riding, hiking to see waterfalls and zip-lining across the mountains were just out of this world experience...

The staff were so kind and helpful. We went horseback riding, zip lining and visited a huge beautiful waterfall.Our guides George and Jordy were amazing! They went out of their way to create a wonderful experience!! I highly recommend!!

Our stay at Borinquen was amazing! We saw howler monkeys, spider monkeys, white faced monkeys, agoutis, toucans and so many other birds. We encountered a Fer-de-lance snake on a night walk, so definitely use caution around the trails. I would definitely return!

Beautiful property! It’s like paradise once you finally make the drive up the questionable road. Room was beautiful and clean but pack lotion because they don’t provide it in the bathroom. Also, make sure you pack everything you need including bug spray because they don’t have anything to purchase at the hotel. We didn’t have bug spray and couldn’t buy any from them and got eaten alive! There’s nothing around the hotel either so once you are on the property you are there to stay. My kids did a fantastic zip line excursion and my daughter and I an incredible horse back ride all available at the hotel for an extra reasonable cost. It was the perfect 2 night stay before we headed to the beach!

We stayed in the junior sweets in room 504 and saw monkeys outside our porch every morning at 6:30. It was surreal and a trip I’ll never forget!

It needs to improve comfort, missing pool chairs, but more important is the fact that each cabin as a beautiful patio area and basically you can not use it, because the sitting space is so uncomfortable, has old date chair where you can not seat more than 4 minutes and rocking tables were you are insecure to leave even a glass in there. Staff is friendly but needs more training to answer in a better way question about the property and the food. Food quality need to improve as well.

Personnel at the restaurantes and bars will benefit from customer training! Food was hit and miss. The risotto had no flavor . Breakfast is very good, personnel need to be more attentive to the customers, more than once we observed waitresses talking with each other in the restaurant

Simply Paradise
We absolutely loved the three nights we stayed here. The gravel mountain road up to the resort was an adventure but it was worth the hour drive from the airport. We did two different couples massages that were amazing. Enjoyed the hot springs and mud bath every day. Liked the pool and pool bar. Our tour guide for the forest hike to the waterfalls was great! Very personalized service and the staff was extremely friendly. The food at the bar & grill was excellent. Enjoyed the main restaurant too.

Save your money and time! It takes quite a drive to get to Borinquen. It's not worth the drive. The grounds and landscaping are beautiful, but the rooms, restaurant and pools need to be renovated. The staff are not very welcoming or hospitable. The restaurant manger was beyond rude with us. My order came out incorrectly, and he reprimanded me in front of the other guests. I asked for the pasta without cheese (allergic) and it came with cheese. The manager then said it was my fault and asked me to read the menu more closely. He hen shoved the menu in my face, as if I had eyesight issues. Extremely bad form. Unfortunately, when you check in to this "resort" you are stuck, there are no other restaurants or towns, within miles and miles. Your dream vacation can very quickly become a nightmare, you may feel stuck. After the restaurant incidence, we decided to check out, and left our stay early. The entire place is run down and the hot spring pools are in very poor condition. The mud area is okay, but the shower area to rinse off the mud has no hot water, so you'll have to shower in freezing cold water to rinse off. My husband and I were so excited to end our trip in Costa Rica at Borinquen, but were sadly disappointed.

The customer service doesn’t meet our standards for a 4 star hotel. We had so many bugs, millipedes and spiders in our room, crawling everywhere, even beds. In addition we dined at the restaurant and were double charged. They basically charged us for two portions vs one for several items. It is good we noticed it

Getting to this resort is a haul, and what I mean by that is 15 minutes at 10kph along a rocky road. It also has several mountainous roads that need to be climbed to get there. Once you’ve finished the journey, you’re greeted by a unique, well cared for oasis. The property is very well manicured, the suites are well appointed and the staff is very friendly. Pictures of the resort are very helpful as they are current and accurate.

Beautiful place, very friendly, kind, and helpful staff. Great food. Fantastic pool and thermal areas. Dina and Kaylee, and all the ladies at the spa were wonderful. Georg and Wallace were fantastic zip line guides, as was Navi, horse master. The road in is exciting--drive slowly to avoid the worst of the potholes. With the rain, it's impossible to keep such roads constantly maintained, so be careful.

This is an amazing place. Although getting there was a bit hard giving that we arrived at night it was wonderful once we got there. From reception time to our check out it was amazing. You could literally stay inside this place for a whole week and don’t get bored. The hot springs, the pool and the mud treatment was all a great treat. All the staff was amazing, it was truly a great trip for us and our boys. We highly recommend the 4 senses tour, if you want to have fun this is it! 12 zip lines ended inside the resort property was great. If I can wish for one more thing….I wish this was an all-inclusive resort with food and drinks. We had to pay for our meals because we didn’t want to leave the property at all! Breakfast is included and it’s a very nice and big buffet with omelet station. My kids loved it. My husband and I….even more. Thank you all :) Desde la hora de recepción hasta nuestra salida fue increíble. Literalmente, podrías quedarte dentro de este lugar durante toda una semana y no aburrirte. Las aguas termales, la piscina y el tratamiento del barro fueron un gran placer. Todo el personal fue increíble, fue realmente un gran viaje para nosotros y nuestros hijos. Recomendamos el tour de los 4 sentidos, ¡si quieres divertirte, esto es todo! 12 líneas de canopy que terminaron dentro de la propiedad del complejo fue genial. Si puedo desear una cosa más... Ojalá este fuera un complejo all-inclusive con comida y bebidas. desayuno está incluido y es un buffet delicioso

Our original hotel was canceled last minute. We are so glad. Borinquen saved the day. We got a flat tire upon arrival and a man at the resort fixed it for us. We loved the spa treatments and the ambiance of the thermal hot springs all around. Truly a magical place!

Great local feel boutique resort
We had an amazing one night stay. We are familiar with Costa Rican roads so it wasn't an issue for us to get there. The property is lively. The rooms big, with units spread out an a large property, beds are comfy, water is hot, AC cool. The staff were fantastic, our walking guide, Felipe was amazing, and we appreciated the vegan and allergy food options on the menu. We loved our stay!

Everything was smooth and efficient. From check in - they had the security prepare d with everything we needed as we did not arrive until 11:00 pm. The entire facility was clean, and well kept. Everyone on the staff was friendly and went out of their way to assist you. The Spa service was relaxing. Helmer, the bartender made perfect cocktails. Food was good. We will be back with friends next time.

The perfect resort for a relaxing stay. Gorgeous views from anywhere on the property. We were able to see amazing wildlife from the pool with a drink in hand. Can it get any better? My only suggestion would be to offer more dining options. There was only one restaurant available for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Beautiful property in idyllic surroundings, with great riding and zip lining activities. Helpful staff. Loses marks for no first aid facilities. Child hurt themselves in the pool, and the hotel didn't even have a sticking plaster for her graze. Food was reasonable, but often didn't match the description on the menu.

Quite the gem
what a great and unique place. I don't write reviews often but this little gem was excellent. Just DONT do the rafting trip, they overcharge and it's not worth it. Tour guides were very surprised when we told them how much the hotel charged us. Definitely do the ziplining, so amazing with the horse riding!

I travelled here with my 3 kids. We really enjoyed the steam house, mud bath and pools. The food was really good- especially the complimentary breakfast. In the morning, I walked up the hill to the back end of the farm and it was an incredible view of the surrounding forests, cattle pastures and mountains. This is a really nice place.
