The room was alright, basic with coffee and tea and water which was great. We got to see an elephant passing by. The internet wasn’t working at all in our room and we had a lizard walking up and down the walls to our room. The dining area was full of bugs and we couldn’t eat there. They didn’t have steak nor any kind of mixed grill. Tried to pay by card and in the end paid in cash as their system apparently wasn’t working but when I’ve checked my card later on i’ve Been charged 3 times.

Het is een mooi resort aan een lake
Het is een mooi, rustig gelegen resort aan een lake waar je de olifanten voorbij kunt zien lopen. Je kunt hier uit een ontbijt kiezen en dit is heel goed. Er zit een zwembad bij wat ook heel fijn is. Het is alleen jammer dat er heel weinig ligbedden zijn. Maar wij waren overdag op pad, dus we hebben hier ook niet veel gebruik van gemaakt.

Amazing location on the edge of the lake. An elephant came right up to the fence in the evening. Brilliant for bird watching. Our room was fine and well maintained. We found the restaurant menu a bit tired and not very inspiring. Within easy car journey of the magnificent ancient buildings/ruins of Pollonaruwa. V.good pool.

A Nice Hotel in a Fabulous Location
The hotel location is fabulous,,,,,,,,very relaxing and gets you away from the Sri Lankan traffic (the constant honking). The staff are very friendly, helpful and the manager cannot do enough for you. The food is lovely and not too expensive for a hotel. I will never forget the moment when I opened the bedroom curtains and there was an elephant standing straight outside, a very wonderful and surreal experience.

Good hotel with a great position on the lake
It's 4km from the centre of town (and further from the bus station) but that doesn't matter if you're touring by tuk tuk or bicycle, and this lake hotel (don't confuse with the non-lake Thidas Arana nearby) has a great spot on a peninsula with beautiful lake and sunset views, sometimes even elephants walking past. Room good including bathroom, restaurant good but expensive, staff great, small pool, wifi usually good. Well worth the money if you want to relax.

J'ai ete tres enerve je suis arrivé le soir a 22h30 et apres avoir cherche longtemps, on arrive devant une porte ferme, on a tape longtemps a la porte jusqu a se que min chauffeur sonne a cote, c etait la maison du gardien qui dormait. Le check in a mis une eternite. Mais apres l hotel est chouette. Tres eloigne du centre, donc au calme au bord du lac

Très jolie vue sur le lac.
Situation exceptionnelle avec vue sur le lac et les élephants (et les vaches!) qui viennent parfois vous rendre visite. Jolie piscine. Repas bon mais service très lent. Une partie de l'hotel est inachevée.

Fantastic stay in Sri Lanka
We enjoyed everything about this place: Service minded and very friendly staff who helped us planning a safari and trip to Sigiriya, beautiful new rooms, nice pool, delicious breakfast. Elephants come by just outside the hotel! Best stay in Sri Lanka.

Prachtig hotel gelegen aan meer met olifanten
We hebben genoten van de prachtige locatie van het hotel. Het personeel was vriendelijk en probeerde het verblijf zo fijn mogelijk te maken. Een aanrader is de kanotocht over het meer, waarbij je olifanten van heel dichtbij ziet en zelf visjes kan vangen. Het enige nadeel was het betonnenbed (hard) en het eten was acceptabel maar niet zo bijzonder. Desalniettemin zeker de moeite waard om naar toe te gaan.

Beautiful location, great staff.
The sevice was excellent. Every staff member worked hard to ensure all of our needs were met. They booked tours for us, arranged bicycles for us, really anything we needed, they were quick to respond. The setting is beautiful. Typically, elephants walk by the hotel, but sadly for us, the lake level was too high so we missed out. The rooms are clean and large and the beds are comfortable.
