"Lovely friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for reception staff. £20 overnight parking is a little extortionate though! Didn't note electric charging points in car park, although I didn't ask either (have hybrid, so not really an issue for me). Could be useful in future though. No tea/coffee making facilities in room- just water."

"Clean room, did what it needed to do a bed with an ensuite. Felt very dated. Complimentary breakfast was delicious, and the gym had basic equipment but good enough to get a good gym session in. Extremely gorgeous location and perfect for going into Chester. Reasonable car park price. Only negative was I didn’t appreciate being asked for my card details - account expiry and cvc outline publicly and was not told how it would be stored or removed. I feel that there was a slight breech to gdpr and froze my card afterwards. I asked to give the receptionist my card once I realised they wanted such sensitive information. Would’ve preferred a bit more transparency and discretion. But all in all an ok stay. Thank you"

"No heating or cooling, reception never warned us about this. Room was too stuffy, wi does barely opened, we had to change rooms for second night. Water sometimes runs cold. Fire false alarm went off for over an hour the first morning, they couldn’t seem to stop it. Feels under staffed and needs fixing. Most staff were good and it’s a nice building."

"The room was nice and clean. Bed was comfy and lots of lovely pillows. Good bathroom only small but perfectly fine. If this was a compact room it wasn't that small really and a huge TV. My only complaint would be the lift could not be used for customers. Luckily I only had a small case otherwise I would have struggled. The pool itself was lovely and warm. But the changing rooms really need updating. Quite smelly and dirty. Overall quite good value with the use of the pool. And the park and ride is extremely convenient"

"A hotel that has been carefully planned. Great location and layout, with good onsite facilities - the gym and spa are rightfully busy. However I was surprised to have no housekeeping visit to make up my room on the first day and a very unhelpful person to talk to when I called at 3.45 pm on the second day asking when my room might be made up. The answer was that they were behind with ‘stayers’ because they had a lot of people checking out. No apology and lots of silence on the phone. I was left feeling that it was my fault… Once a member of housekeeping services arrive half an hour later, she said she’d only need 5 minutes - and she did a great job. Not a character experience."

"Was a bit wary about this stay as we've had bad experiences in Brittania hotels before. However, these fears were unfounded. It was excellent, enormous room, with TV to match. Pool and spa were great. Spotless throughout. Mikey on reception was very helpful and welcoming. Overall excellent stay, only improvement could be air conditioning, although temperature remained pleasant in the room even in hot weather."
