My wife and I were travelling in and out of Iqaluit and during each leg of the journey we stayed at Capital Suites. Staff is pretty friendly and helpful. When fully booked they helped find other accommodation. Room was overly hot one night and sleep was poor. No nearby restaurant. But rooms are comfortable and roomy
I stayed in this hotel for a week. The hotel was comfortable and close to everything. There are some great amenities: exercise equipment, big TVs, and a fridge, microwave, and dishware and cutlery. The shower was also excellent.
My one issue is that the walls seem to be pretty thin, and unfortunately, I had some noisy neighbours who had late-night arguments. This is bad luck, I know, more than a fault in the hotel. Still, I'd recommend that light sleepers bring earplugs, just in case.
The worst Hotels.com experience ever! Gold Member!
The room booked online was not available for check-in, and the hotel refused to honour the reservation as it was. I was told to cancel and rebook the larger, more expensive option which I could not find online on neither Hotels.com nor Expedia. With limited accommodations in the area, and the urgency of my request after a missed connection, I was forced to pay the amount charged to Hotels.com AND the additional amount over and above what the hotel was reimbursed from Hotels.com/Expedia - making the room even about $50 more expensive than it would be walking in off the street!
My first trip to Nunavut. Great experience. Lucky enough to see the Northern Lights right from my hotel window and front door of Capital Suites. Clean & Comfortable. Right in the heart of downtown Iqaluit.

Convenient & clean
Room was clean & comfortable, well appointed. WiFi included in the cost. Staff were friendly & helpful.
I spent a night here on my way back to Arctic Bay. In my opinion, this is one of the best hotels in Iqaluit. It is quiet and well located. Rooms are clean and the staff is very friendly. I would gladly stay here again when I pass through Iqaluit.
This hotel is in such a remote part of the world but has all the amenities that we expect from a normal city hotel. The suites have all the conveniences one would need to stay for a longer stay. close to grocery store, visitor interest places and close to all the offices.
