“The hotel is showing its age, but parking was okay. We were there at the end of May, and the room was quite warm; the only window that could be opened was tiny, which wasn't helpful. It must be unbearable in the room during the summer. Breakfast was decent, and the staff was friendly. We had dinner at the hotel, which was rather mediocre.”

“The location is ideal for the seafront and restaurants. The bathroom was very spacious however the room itself was extremely tight. Unfortunately the service was so bad, I will not be returning. When checking in, we had to speak to 3 different members of staff before finding out which room we were in, and not one of those staff members even said hello or greeted us in any way. They ran past us trying not to acknowledge our present, We were just left standing there with absolutely no information...

“Great place for a night stay when visiting family nearby. Room was a bit tired and in need of some love, but functional enough. Rooms at the back of the building have noise due to ventilation / fans but weren’t a problem for us. Air con was amazing!”

“The family room was lovely and well equipped for 2 adults and 2 children. A couple of niggles in that the blind was broken in the bathroom and the rubbish bins were a bit on the small side. Staff were really lovely and nothing was any trouble. Breakfast was delicious and we had 1 meal there which was great. Lovely setting next to the river. Would highly recommend”

“Lovely place to spend the weekend. Beautiful buildings steeped in history. We stayed in the flint cottage which is separate from the main building, which was Lord Kitcheners temporary home while the main house was being renovated. The room was very pleasant, the bed was super comfortable. The only annoyance was there were bottles of shower gel, shampoo and conditioner in the shower but they were all empty. We dined in the restaurant for evening and breakfast and afternoon tea and all the food...
