Loved our stay at Mara Oldcity Hotel! The location couldn't be better—you're within short walking distance of major landmarks like Sultanahmet and Topkapi Palace, plus public transit is right around the corner. The rooms were incredibly clean, modern, and comfortable, and the front desk staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Outstanding value for money in Istanbul. Will definitely return!

We chose this hotel based on positive reviews from other people. This was completely true: very centrally located, close to everything, very attentive and helpful staff, clean room, nicely furnished, great shower. This will be our regular place to stay when we are in Istanbul.

Great value and excellent hospitality For the price, this hotel was a great find. The location was excellent, and the room looked exactly like the pictures on Expedia, which honestly surprised me based on my previous experiences with other hotels. I was prepared for something less, but it actually exceeded my expectations. One thing to keep in mind is that the room is quite small. It would be difficult to have two medium-to-large suitcases open at the same time, so keep that in mind if you’re traveling with a lot of luggage. A special thank you to Aslan at the front desk, who was extremely friendly and helpful. He recommended places where locals eat, so I could try authentic Turkish food without overpaying at touristy restaurants. He also helped arrange an airport transfer for a really good price. Overall, a wonderful option for the price, location, and hospitality. I would happily stay here again!

This was our favorite hotel of the trip. Location was in the thick of things, reception staff were particularly helpful with history questions and transportation tips. Area is full of restaurants and pastry shops. It is a noisy scene and the trams run in front of the hotel, if that matters for sleep, but it is within walking distance of many of Istanbul 's top sights. Room was cleaned and supplies replenished every day. We will stay there again.

Everything with this stay was perfect!! I was blown away by the insane value of this hotel. Great location in old city, clean and updated room, and the staff was always so helpful. Some of the best baklava on our trip came from the evening front desk attendant. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. 100% would recommend.

Everything from the way we were welcomed, to the way the room was laid out and put together for us, this small trendy boutique hotel had more hospitality and customer service experience than a 5 star hotel. Particularly the gentlemen at the front desk, was so friendly and welcoming - he always went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable. Definately a top hotel to stay at. Location is great too and room well maintained.

The location was great - walkable distance from major sites, tram line, and restaurants and shops. The room was cosy and comfortable. The staff communicated with me before my stay and organized an airport shuttle. During part of the stay there was no water in the sink or shower and I could hear people outside in the neighborhood and in the building throughout the night. Overall I was happy with my stay and would stay there again

A good clean place to put your head down for the night. AC works well. Small rooms but typical of all hotels in the area. Food and shopping around the area is expensive but again that’s due to closeness to the sights. Tram stop 2 mins walk away - easy access to Galata side also. Metro also 4 mins away to transfer to Anatolian side.

Couldn’t have asked for a better location! The hotel was in a great area central to all the major sites, shops and restaurants. Easy access to the tram to explore the other side of the river and other parts of the city. The front desk staff were extremely friendly and went above and beyond to help us with any arrangements we needed. Rooms were clean and comfortable. We did note a slight smell in our bathrooms from the water lines/drains but it did not affect our stay. Would definitely recommend!

Wonderful stay with amazing staff! We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The hotel was very clean, comfortable, and well located. Every member of staff was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help. All of our needs were taken care of, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We truly felt at home here and will definitely stay again when we return to Istanbul.
