"When I arrived at this property the owner finally answered the door, she said she had no knowledge of my booking. Finally I had to email her a copy of my confirmation. This wasn't made any easier by her statement that "she spoke no English" - the website clearly states multilingual staff. (In fact it later became clear she did speak English). The 'living-room' is actually set out as a shop and did not feel welcoming - I was not invited to use it anyway. The only restaurant in Salives was unable...

"Parfait , superbe endroit pour se détendre et visiter les environs Personnel de bon niveau, le dîner au restaurant était excellent Chambre propre et agréable Petit déjeuner de bonne qualité dommage que l endroit est étriqué … quand il y a du monde c est peu agréable . "It is a very nice hotel overlooking a really beautiful medieval town. The staff were genuinely very nice and helpful. The food at the restaurant was awesome and reasonably priced and the breakfast was very good too. The swimming pool is great and was open late enough to enjoy it even after a day on the road. We will definitely go back to this hotel and recommend it to everyone. Our only regret was not to stay longer."

"Amazing property in Burgundy country that was perfect for a two day reset after a week of traveling. Everything was amazing. The staff even welcomed us with a bottle of champagne for my wife’s birthday. We enjoyed our room, the surrounding nature, the pool, everything. We will be back. Merci!"

"We chose Hotel Val Vert for its location between Provence and Paris. We arrived fairly late and were able to have a lovely dinner right next door at a steakhouse. The room was very simple, clean and accommodating for 4 adults. The breakfast was amazing and we were so glad we chose to have it! A full buffet with many lovely and delicious items. The staff was super helpful and spoke English, which was a help for us. We would most definitely stay again should our travels take us to the area."

Super friendly and lets you feed the horses, really cool experience and just nice people! Top notch French food and highly recommend, especially if you’re into aviation!"

"It was a stop half way between the north and the south, we wanted to try somewhere new. It is completely basic, hence the price, but just off the motorway, easy to get to. Easy check-in, rooms clean. The shower wasn’t great but otherwise all good. The tv wasn’t plugged in for some reason and it took two of us to plug it in as it was very awkward. We had breakfast and it was decent, the lady working it was very nice. The actual village is absolutely stunning, very picturesque. All in all, a good stay"
