Snow trip with a friend

Had a great stay at the Aalberg. The staff were all super friendly. We went during the end of winter season for snow boarding during Covid times. They upgraded us for free to a bigger room. Breakfast was great! Fried egg, hash brown, bacon, baked beans, toast with butter, orange juice, tea. They even gave us 2 beers on the house. Would highly recommend. For 2 people can't ask for more!

not worth it.

I don't have anything good to say about the place. You can hear all the footsteps and doors closing and opening all over the place. The manager/ receptionist/cook wasn't welcoming and nice at any angle at all. They are not treating guest as guest. it is more like intruders or something. With all the rules in placed, you'd rather stay out and just come back to this place to sleep. Water heater is not working properly so you would end up showering in icy cold water for a while. Electric kettle was plastic and discoloured that you would have 2nd thoughts of using it or not.

The staff were friendly. The rooms were cosy and warm. The beds were so comfortable. The location was great, plenty of parking space.

Staff and facilities were excellent - they made an atmosphere of community and friendship even for the short time we were there. Every morning and evening it was such a joy to spend time there, really adding to our ski trip. Couldn't wipe the smile off my face!

Ok but still expensive for what you got.

Room was a lot smaller than I expected and pretty expensive for what you got. The sound proofing between rooms was very bad and we were woken up regularly throughout the night just from doors opening never mind the actual loud guests that were next door to us.

Great staff and delicious hot breakfast. Although the room was slightly on the small side but the cleanliness and quietness more than compensate for it. I enjoyed my stay very much and will definitely stay here again for my next ski trip.

Room was so small

Room was so small compared to what it looked like in the photos when we booked it. We were shoved in a tiny room in a corner where the entrance was a bathroom. The beds were uncomfortable and the heater was in the bathroom. The checkin time of 4PM is stupid and such an inconvenience. When we were waiting to check in we asked to use the bathroom and were refused as they only had a male bathroom and not a female bathroom so we had to drive elsewhere after driving for 6 hours to use a bathroom. Would not recommend this hotel.

Simple and old school. Staff were fantastic and friendly, however the owner has a list of rules similar to a year 5 school camp. If you are after more discretion around your holiday or trip probably not the best place. If you just go there to sleep and nothing else, this could work for you

Good find

Presents better than the images depict. Very modern, clean rooms and all the facilities that you'd want for a Jindabyne ski stay. Friendly, helpful host, good breakfast options, easy parking etc, etc.
