"Disappointing Experience at a Hotel in Southkey / Mid Valley
We stayed here over the weekend during Ramadan. The location is fantastic, sitting above the beautiful Southkey Mid Valley mall, but unfortunately the overall hotel experience was surprisingly disappointing.
Around 10pm, almost everything in the hotel stopped operating. We went up to the bar for what was advertised as a complimentary drink with a nice view. When we ordered cocktails at about 10:30pm, we were told there were no snacks or food available because it was “hotel policy” that everything stops at 10pm. The mall downstairs had already closed, and room service had also stopped at 10pm, leaving guests with drinks but absolutely no food options. This is particularly puzzling during Ramadan when many people eat later in the evening after sundown.
More importantly, this feels like a missed opportunity for the hotel from a business perspective. Every evening you can see numerous Grab riders picking up takeaway orders in the area, which clearly shows strong demand for food at night. Instead of capturing this demand from both hotel guests and visitors, everything shuts down early. Whether it is food, room service, bar snacks, or late-night dining, there are clearly opportunities here for the hotel to improve service and generate additional revenue, yet these seem completely overlooked.
