Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park Tours

This little frog is a Phrynobatrachus ungujae. They are on the CITES red list, so are endangered. They are only found in Kenya and on Unguja Island of Zanzibar. They are about the size of the top section of my thumb (15-20mm long) - fully grown.

November is storm season, but it is also Spring here, so there are lots of young creatures around. You have to take a local guide from the Forest information centre and you get walked through the forest. This is not a bad thing, as there are a load of side paths and no signage, so I think getting lost would be pretty straight forward. The other good thing about a network of guides on the ground, is that they find the monkeys easily, meaning you get to spend more time with them, rather than looking for them.
