Great location. Loved the live music. Breakfast was very good. The bath in the room was the smallest I’ve ever seen though so impossible to have a relaxing soak and the bed was a bit too hard. We both woke up with blocked noses so I think there was dust in the room.

Ok Guys, this is the best place to stay in Kilkenny. You can not get a better location, wonderful staff, great room, the food is lovely. You are only a 5 minutes from the Castle Kilkenny and Smithwicks. The shopping is only 100 steps away. The parking garage is across the street. The front desk lady was the best ever. Honestly, don't even think about it and book this hotel. Beautiful. I travel from South Carolina to Kilkenny Ireland and this was an amazing experience.

Hotel and room were lovely clean and comfortable, I do think the room bathroom could do with upgrading but it was very clean. Staff were all lovely and pleasent. We were very disappointed with our evening meal in the bar but the breakfast was lovely. Would stay again.

I was disappointed with the room it was so small and the bed was small too not what I expect for 250 euro for the night. I have stayed here a few times and every other time I was so happy. The bed wasn’t that comfortable either. The staff and food and drinks were nice though

Disappointing stay
Air conditioning was a glorified fan resulting in 2 nights bad sleep. Not what I expected at a 4 star hotel. In the restaurant I tried to swap out a starter that was not on the fixed menu but the same price to be told it was impossible. The hotel doesn’t have parking and no discounted rate at the public car park for residents

This hotel is in an excellent location right in the heart of Kilkenny. A short walk to the castle and bridge to see the other side of town. Beautiful decor and rooms. Be prepared there is no heat or air. The weather is pretty temperate but my husband likes it cold when he sleeps. So, he opened the windows and it was pretty loud since we are in the heart of town. Nice breakfast at the hotel and the Left Bank bar on the corner was a swanky treat. We loved Kilkenny.

Staff was wonderful, friendly and helpful. The building is old, so there is a charm to that not found in newer buildings. Only downside was could not regulate cooling so slept with balcony doors open, which was nice. Great bar, lovely live music. Food was so good, and drinks were delicious. I would definitely recommend.

Great location.

The Staff Is Willing to Lie to Keep You There
The following is not about the temperature: We ended up leaving before staying the night. Ireland struggles when the temperature gets hot (mid 80's). This is known so if AC is a mandate make sure to book accordingly. Our Hiberian room was on the 3 floor and safety teather prevented the window from opening more than a few inches. Not enough to let air flow even with a fan by the crack. The person at the desk explained the tether was a national law. This turned out to be untrue. The tether is part of thier insurance. Later, we asked if the manager could open the windows while we were out of the room to allow the fans to get ahead of the heat. The desk said they would ask. Upon our return, we were told the manager had gone up to try it. Our room was unshifted. The manager explained he tried it and it did not make an impact. As we had just come from outside and understood the temp drop, I was surprised and asked if we could try it again together. We agree to return out keys for safety during the attempt. The truth came out and he really did not have the key to the tether. That was the second "straight up" lie. We left and stayed at the Pembroke. Great staff. Great room. Same price. Hiberian management said they would call in the morning. I stopped buy in the morning ot pick up the car and was told a manager would call. Still no call. Poor form all the way around. Hard to capture in the picture but there are actually 2 window barriers
