“Bedroom was a really good size. Good storage space with a safe and fridge. The bathroom had both a bath and separate shower. Really good choice of Gluten Free food available both for breakfast and evening meals.”

“Breakfast was great”

“We lived the quietness and the fireplace for reading.”

“Clean, warm and the made to order breakfast was great.”

“Kilkea Castle was a wonderful stay. Last minute we booked a room in the Lodges; unfortunately, the actual Castle was all booked up. This didn’t lessen the experience though. The lodge room was clean, comfortable, well-appointed and had a fairway view. We were also able to use the facilities in the castle itself. “The hotel is a true old world charm property set in a very peaceful and serene environment. The property is well maintained and the rooms are very comfortable. The bed especially is very comfortable. The food and service is also excellent even though it is very full at weekends as it is a popular wedding and event property. There is a true commitment to quality and sincere warmth in both staff and housekeeping.”

“Was only 8klms to go back into town for dinner but the breakfast at the cottage was amazing”

“as you paid..”

“Close to town of Carlow”

“Beautiful location, friendly staff and nice restaurant with variety of food options. But rooms are outdated. We stayed at newer building where the Smokehouse is, so can't say anything about main building and how well it maintained.”

“Second time to say here within a few weeks. One of our favourite places to stay. Very friendly staff, good food, comfortable room, and lovely location in the Vale of Avoca. All good.”

“Basic but functional room. Check in was fine but a man of few words.”

“Nice facilities, didn't care for the bunk bed in the room, not very comfortable and a bit claustrophobic.”
