"The food is great but very expensive, although Ballater is an expensive place to stay. Evening meal and bar lovely, breakfast amazing. Nice feel to the hotel, very traditional and cosy. We stayed in a standard room, which is basic. Mattress and pillows felt cheap, it overlooked properties but there was no net curtain to offer privacy, dusty, TV had no apps to log into, noise from downstairs clearly audible, door in the hallway made a creaking noise. We were pretty disappointed as the next level was almost double. "

"Had a lovely stay, lots to do close by and lots of shops close too. Hotel was lovely with very friendly staff the Only thing that let our stay down a bit was the choice at breakfast .. we areived for breakfast at 10am was supposed to be serving until 1030 but there was not a great selection of hot food left. "Great place to stay and only a short walk from Dundee City Centre. Comfortable and well equipped rooms. Will definitely stay here if back in Dundee."

"The hotel was excellent. From checking in , house keeping and breakfast. Only thing would be the member of staff on Friday morning. It was very busy between 9 and 10 and they were being asked to top up lots of things at the same time. Maybe thier humour but to say we stary serving breakfast at 6 every day insinuating that we could of came earlier wasnt nice to make people feel like they were an inconvenience. This is the only little negative oh and that there was no Nutella lol..definitely will be back and recommending to family and friends "
