We really enjoyed our stay at Le Méridien, we spent 4 nights. It was comfortable and quiet, the room was a very good size, there are some minor maintenance issues, but nothing to concerning. Nice, clean hotel and restaurant buffet was always awesome when I chose to eat there. There is other nice restaurants in the area within walking distance too, not about to try the street food here, it's nothing like Penang. Outside the property the streets and sidewalk are in very poor condition, trash and garbage everywhere, hawkers etc.

This is a very fine modern hotel located in the heart of Kota Kinabulu. We particularly appreciated the fact that it was a short walk to the restaurant row on the waterfront which offered outdoor seating and a variety of cuisines.

Beautiful hotel, Beautiful views over the water, veey helpful, very nice English speaking staff, the buffet meals offer many tasty types of food.. Now stepping outside onto the sidewalks is another thing altogether. Pollution, trash in the water and along the streets is horrible, add to that the broken city sidewalks and hawkers along some of the shops. Fortunately you can grab very decent cabs using Grab, local equivalent to Uber and very inexpensive, to go anywhere without stepping off of the property.
