"Rating is based on the fact it is a camp. The staff is great, really friendly and take good care of you. They helped with anything we needed. It is a bit hard to find, but they met us on the road and brought us to the camp site. The location is well kept. Since it is a camp, there are bugs, there are reptiles, but the staff do their best to keep them out of your way. The breakfast was great and very peaceful."

"La Pentera is a new property which has a unique concept of a tree house. The property is quite far from the Udawalawe National Park - about 30 km or so. The directions are also unclear, even if you use googlemaps. The property is new and in great condition. However, there are things that could be better, especially the food. The bathroom has hot water though there is some water leakage. A great experience stay but could be better."

We had to walk a long distance on foot, during which we encountered wild animals — an extremely unsafe situation. "The welcome at the Sihilro Regency is second to none. We felt almost like family. The home cooked food offered is really fantastic, exceeding the standard in most of the hotels we stayed in. Arriving over the new year weekend, we were slightly concerned that onward travel would be difficult but they helped us find a taxi at a very reasonable price. We also used their in house Safari and the driver / guide was brilliant. Highly recommended."
