I had reservations at first, but this ended up being amazing as a solo female traveler. Reasonably priced and the place was clean and comfortable. Shared facilities were nice as well.

The staff were outstanding could not have been nicer or more helpful. They went out of their way to help me. The room was really cosy and comfortable. The amenities were outstanding. Happy hour with free beer was a very welcome treat. Common areas were very welcoming and cosy with lots of designated areas for people wanting to work, chat or just chill. It was the best of all the hotels I stayed in during my Japan trip.

Everything about this place is amazing. Excellent location (chaotic the moment you step outside the door, but incredibly convenient), capsule was so cool and extremely comfortable (enough room for bags, bed is bigger than usual, and you can even make bed into a couch to chill), bathrooms super clean and they have enough showers and bathrooms for each floor. This place has mastered the hostel socialization environment. As a solo traveler, I made a bunch of friends here to go out to dinner with. They offer a happy hour in the evening with free beer for guests so it’s really easy to meet people and the common area is very comfortable and well designed.

Very clean hostel, nice staff, modern communal work area with free tea and coffee all day. They have a WhatsApp group you can join, but in general I’d say the place is a 7/10 in terms of socializing (you can work it but it won’t fall into your lap).

Lots of attention to detail, everything works, and the silent alarm is very useful. The restrooms and showers are clean. Despite many capsules on the floor, it was very quiet and private. The common area on the 8th floor is useful and social. The only room for improvement is that I wish they would circulate the air better and freshen it up. It gets pretty stuffy, although I understand it might be hard to manage with so many people staying in one place.

Stayed here for the first time solo. Was confused at first not realizing the check in was on the 8F of the building. Once I got up there, check in and check out process was smooth. It was my first time staying there so they played a video tutorial explaining how everything worked from the shared lounge/work spaces to the bed functionality and how to use the iPad to control your pod. Didn’t use it but coin laundry was provided if people wanted to wash their clothes. Happy hour was a nice addition, allowed for people to be social and plan out evenings together. Maybe they should also have a couple board games or cards available as well. Coworking spaces and meeting rooms are available. Shared kitchen space where we would wash our own plates and cutlery that we would use. Bike rentals available for a fee as well. Very nice facility, one of the more friendly hostels I’ve stayed at. Fairly easy to get to, bus stops near by. Would stay at again in the future

We canceled reservations to stay here. It is extremely convenient to get up at any hour of the day/night, have a kitchen at your disposal and not have to worry about waking anyone up. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable, and breakfast in the morning was a perfect way to start the day. I would definitely stay here again.

The matters in my cube was in need of replacing. It had a fold right in the middle that hurt to sleep on and a human shaped imprint on the whole thing. Because I don’t like to complain, I endured it for two sleepless and somewhat painful nights. When I went to see if I can change beds the gave me a new cube right next to the front door that shakes the wall when it opens and closes all night long. I went to ask for a room change and the lady was acting like I was a pest for asking. All I wanted was one decent night of sleep. They gave me a bed in a quieter spot so my last night was nice. Was bummed they made me feel like I was a hassle. Definitely not ever doing that again. You get what you pay for I suppose.

Very central location. The staff is super helpful! If you like to have the option to socialize in the lobby area, this is a great place to stay. Make plans with randoms and do all sort of weird stuff. I will definitely recommend this place, and will be back if Im in Kyoto again.

Super comfortable bed/pillows. The staff were +++ incredible. We rented bikes each day to ride around the city. They were very well maintained. Highly recommend this place. When I'm back in Kyoto I'll stay here again.
