We stayed for 7 days while visiting Kyoto for Fall foliage. The room is very clean and quite with great insulation. The staffs are courteous, patient and helpful with questions. Great walking location to train stations, convenient stores, supermarkets, and restaurants. Would book it again next time and recommend to friends or relatives with no hesitation.

Wonderful Stay!

We had an outstanding stay at Tomoya Residence Hotel. The staff could not have been more helpful or polite, the location was excellent for exploring the back streets of Kyoto, and the room itself was perfect for our family of three to have a comfortable space with thoughtful details throughout. Such a nice, intimate hotel - cannot imagine a better place for us to have started our trip in Kyoto. Thanks to the team at Tomoya for a memorable visit!

The hotel is on a quiet street about 10 min walking distance from 2 train stations. The staff was very warm and friendly. The hotel was top notch with a beautiful entry. The room was quite large with a sitting area with a table and large counter. The bath and shower was large and felt luxurious with a separate toilet. There were plenty of small toiletries. The bed was very comfortable. The room was very clean and we appreciated the large bottle of Evian water. I would highly recommend this place as you get 5 star amenities fo a 3 star price. We had no trouble getting to the wonderful sites. Thank you so much!

This place was our favourite place in Japan to stay. The staff are absolutely lovely, the room and facilities are beautiful and it is in a great location. We found a lot of beds in Japan to be slightly uncomfortable but the beds here are super comfy. The toilet/bidet is top of the line as well. There are lots of lovely touches that made us feel special - like a matcha tea on arrival for us and apple juice for the kids, and the Nescafé coffee pods in the apartment. We recommend Tomoya Residence 1000% and cannot wait to stay there again in the future.

This is one of the nicest hotels we’ve stayed! It is a beautiful property with a traditional, Japanese style. We loved the suite with a separate bedroom and living room with a fridge! Our family paid the extra charge per day for the delicious breakfast served in our room. The hotel staff were so accommodating and professional! They answered questions about the area and helped us find a wonderful shopping and Japanese shrine area in Kyoto so we could purchase traditional Japanese tea sets and souvenirs. I can’t say enough about how friendly the hotel staff were to our family and grandbaby. Also, this is a great location with many good restaurants within walking distance. Also, we had a large rental van and there is a parking pay lot within walking distance to the hotel. We will definitely stay here again if we visit Kyoto in the future!

Pretty much the perfect place to stay. Starting with the location and going on to a beautifully appointed boutique hotel with the perfect service you expect in Japan. The room was a bit strange in that it was very long and narrow but it definitely worked and was a great place to stay. the bathroom and sitting area were fantastic. The only minor point is that they do not have a common sitting or eating area. We would’ve preferred breakfast, not in the room, but it actually ended up being very pleasant. Definitely recommend!!!

何より驚いたのは誕生日だと伝えたらメッセージカードのついた花籠がテーブルに置いてあったこと！さりげない優しさを感じました。サービスに少し慣れない感じがあったものの親切にしていただきました。食器などはパーフェクト！お風呂には椅子があると良いですネ。
