A beautiful hotel in a beautiful location but a little understaffed during our stay, especially on the Friday night. Check in and reception were excellent. Some of the outside areas including balconies needed a good clean but by and large we enjoyed a lovely stay!

Absolutely fantastic.

We arrived late in the evening so we couldn't see all the amenities but in the morning I realized that we stayed in real castle converted into hotel. Elegant decor, attention to the details, and the character. Absolutly incredible. I wished we could stay there for couple more days.

Hotel views are great. The level of service, however, is borderline comical. I could write a long list of points to be improved, from asking staff not to enter the room when the 'do not disturb' sign is on the door, to not asking "yes?" in a clearly annoyed way when all you want to do is order wine. Housekeeping staff should also pay more attention (fridge not working, cupboard door not closing etc). I guess it all comes down to badly trained, or untrained, staff. This hotel wants the high prices but falls way short on details.

First of all, the view from the hotel was spectacular and the atmosphere was enjoyable. However, I did not feel like a 4 star hotel when is came to servicing our room. We had to ask several times for body wash and shampoo replacement as the one in the room was empty when we arrived and the phone never worked which made us walk all the way to the front desk which was inconvenient. The shower button wasn’t working correctly but they finally sent someone to fix it. Did not receive our bottle of champagne on the second day as promised by the front desk. At that we gave up and was just counting the hours until our departure. For the price, it wasn’t worth it. Again, the hotel and location is beautiful but It’s too bad our experience wasn’t.

Great hotel in a great area. We stayed in a Castle room which was really nice but the bathroom was looking like it needed a refresh and the air conditioning couldn’t keep the room very cool. Wonderful breakfast and dining options are excellent. The food at “Drac” is superb. Pool area needed younger staff to clean up used towels and drink glasses up a lot faster but it’s a wonderful pool and lounge area. Would definitely stay again and recommend. The small things are easily rectified. General manager Silvia seems wonderful had a genuine interest in how they could improve. Diani on the restaurants is fantastic!

Hotel Castell d'Emporda

A lovely property. The design and decor is well thought out. The new rooms have been added sympathetically to blend in with the old site. We stayed in a Dali room which was fine. It was a typical modest, modern hotel room with a nod to Dali in the decoration. The view across the countryside was good. The Drac dining room is very nice and the food was excellent. The chef adapted the menu beautifully at short notice to meet dietary requirements. The exterior areas for dining and drinks are extensive but the weather prevented us from using them. Should be great in the warmer seasons. Easy access to the Dali Castle at Pubol and about 45 minutes drive to the Dali Museum at Figures. Both worth visiting. There is construction ongoing to extend the hotel at one end so it doesn't affect the guests, but there could be some noise.

Very pretty hotel in a lovely location. All the staff were really friendly and most were helpful. Music choices in the communal areas in the evening were a little odd. We were told upon arrival that breakfast was 0830-1030am so we enquired into whether we could get a small breakfast made to go for the following day given we had to leave early. We were told this wasn't possible. Later on we asked a different member of staff to double check as this seemed odd considering most hotels offer this service. The other member of staff said that this was actually possible and that breakfast started at 0800. Additionally, we found that our room wasn't clean when we arrived. There were empty containers in cupboards from previous guests and there was lots of hair in the bathroom where the previous guests had obviously shaved. Again we were disappointed given the standard we were expecting from the hotel.
