•Terrible customer service. In fact only spoke to someone thru the Ring! She wanted my credit card info over the ring with other people close. •No breakfast items as stated. •Fees were added that day and had to be paid over the Ring before she would allow us to enter. •Room lacking. •Not on the beach.

Great Value and a Lot of Fun

The Beach House is a hostel that is well maintained, close to downtown Lahaina and the beach. It is a great way to meet other people but it is not for everyone. The sleeping quarters are fine and you share one of two bathrooms which we found was not a problem as we tended to wake up early. The proximity to downtown makes it a very attractive and affordable way to enjoy the West Coast of Maui.

I didn’t like that there is only one bathroom for everyone to share. You have to wait for hours to use the bathroom or to showe at least each room should have it’s own

Quaint room near the beach

The first night we had the whole place to ourselves! Then we got a couple more housemates. Overall the place is clean and looked recently remodeled. It is close to the beach and the back patio was awesome to sit in the AM and watch surf lessons and drink some coffee! Overall, I recommend this location.

It's a nice hostel

When we booked we thought it was a bed and breakfast, but it's more like a hostel. We had a private bedroom and shared a bath. The room was clean and comfortable.

Inexpensive gem in Lahaina

The stay of two nights was great. The hostel is very clean and comfortable and felt like you were in a friend's home. I loved have breakfast in the lovely yard with views of the beach. It is a quick walk to the attractions in Lahaina but very quiet making for a restful sleep.

Clean hostel with a very hospitable host

I wish I read the reviews before booking because this listing is clearly a hostel. At first, I was a bit nervous since I’ve never stayed in a hostel before but I was pleasantly surprise how clean and nice it was. Its like staying a friend’s place. The host was very friendly and responded to emailed promptly. He showed a lot of hospitality and very informative about Maui. Very close to the beach and restaurants. Only drawback is you can hear other guest in the kitchen/common area if you decide to take an afternoon nap. Luckily, there wasn’t many people staying when we booked for the night. Overall, great place to stay.

Good value for money. But this is NOT a HOTEL,

I bought a package including a HOTEL. Instead I got a B&B style house. Hence my review ratings may not truly reflect a review for a B&B. To me the Owner-Operator is trying to do a good job, but is probably developing a new Model of Business, which now fits in between B&B and Vacation Rental Home. If one expects it to be Hotel, by prepared for disappointment, as one would not find the "Room Services" that would be considered standard in any Hotel, linen replacements, topping up toiletries etc. Instead guests get to cook their own food to the taste they would like, you meet other guest with common interests, share experiences. The Owner-Operator is very friendly and helpful, though he does not have a manned desk at the property. He has mastered the technology to service guests with "Virtual" office and promptly responds to guest's needs or complaints. I hope the Owner-Operator will develop a New Business Model of his own and make known what you get or what to expect at the time of booking. When the weather is good, it is a good location to watch sunset too. The guests do not need a car to move around the town of Lahaina as all good places are within walking distance, harbor, museum, shopping, theater, etc. Traffic conditions can be unpredictable, though Maui is a small place. Speak to locals and get their input. People are very friendly and businesses are very customer oriented.

This is NOT a Bed and Breakfast it is a hostel

The Lahaina Beach House information on Expedia states "Lahaina bed & breakfast in Historic Lahaina Front Street with free breakfast". It is not a B&B, nor does it serve breakfast. The free breakfast consisted of left over food from previous guests. The property has recently been renovated to a high standard and it is clear that the owner/operator wants to maintain this and to this end there is a long list of rules. There are too many beds for the space and facilities available. The kitchen is nice, however there was insufficient room in the refrigerator to accommodate the space needs for 14 people, there was also insufficient bench space to prepare food and not enough room to manoeuvre round the limited space in the kitchen. The laundry was small, I found it difficult to get in and out of it and I am very slight. There are 2 bathrooms to accommodate the needs of 14 guests. The owner/operator is very pleasant and is clearly trying his best. Had I been aware that this is a hostel I would have booked more suitable accommodation for my friend and I.

Hostel NOT a Hotel

This was a hostel not a hotel. When we first arrived one of the many other guest sharing this hostel (which we were not aware that we would be sharing when we booked) was walking around barefoot throughout house with an open draining wound to his right ankle. Myself and my companion cleaned the wound and covered it. (Renter was not on site when we arrived). We were given 1 towel each to use for 3 days. Reservation stated there would be a continental breakfast which was never provided. There was a foul odor. We were woke up at 4 in the morning by other guest and even woken up at 1130 at night by renter when he brought in another guest. Were unable to use restrooms when we needed due to the number of other guest using facilities. We were unable to sit anywhere other than on our beds due to the number of other guests in the house. If this had been advertised as a Hostel we would not have reserved this HOUSE/HOTEL and would have stayed elsewhere

Nice air bnb close to the beach, downtown Lahaina.

I hope they fix for good about the water pressure, on our 2nd day, the water pressure broke, we have to take a hot shower next door- the other air bnb. So inconvenient at that time but they fixed it later that day. Rooms are clean but the bed sheets are kind cheap looking. It should be a nice one, that’s a good investment for bnb.
