stayed at Barcelรณ Playa Blanca in June 2025 and was extremely disappointed by the hotelโs lack of support and basic care. As someone with a medical need for shade due to skin cancer, I requested shaded sunbed access before and during my stay. Despite raising this multiple times, no reasonable solution was offered. Instead, I was told to pay โฌ900 to change rooms or move hotelsโneither of which addressed the issue fairly.
Staff were often dismissive, and at times even laughed at my repeated requests for shade, which was humiliating. I had to chase for everything, from towels to written responses. Promised follow-ups never happened, and communication was poor throughout.
In this day and age, we all understand the dangers of UV exposure. Barcelรณ is knowingly failing to provide a basic duty of care by not ensuring adequate shade for guestsโparticularly those with medical needs. This is unacceptable for a hotel of its supposed standard.
