Being only a 30 minute bus ride from downtown León, it's hard to imagine a beach this beautiful being so deserted. True, being up for sunrise certainly helps, but even throughout the day the beaches of Las Peñitas are for the most part deserted. Just be sure to check with the locals before diving into the water; while some stretches are perfect for swimming, others are a little rougher and can be dangerous for the unprepared. #Nicaragua #Leon #LasPenitas #Beach

Love this place. The check in was very easy, the staff is very friendly and attentive. The place was very clean and organized. The only issue was that the water was not that hot, but it was perfect since the temperature is not lower than 33°C, you won’t miss it.

Water is beautiful with big waves, but thus is danergous to enter the ocean. Great walking beach, but not for swimming.

Small fishing village. Quiet, safe. Enjoyable to watch the fishing boats leave and return. Very strong tidfes...be careful.
