Hôtel Rosalie

10/10 Excellent

"I love the 13th arrondissement and always stay at the Rosalie. The situation is great, quiet but just two minutes from La Place d'Italie and L'Avenue des Gobelins, with all they have to offer in terms of places to eat, drink and shop in a real neighbourhood. The nearby bakery, Meunier, produces the best ever viennoiserie and is open until 8pm most days. Paris' "quartier chinois" (mostly Vietnamese) is just a short walk away. Great transport options too, both bus and metro, to all aprts of the city. There's a special sense of well-being here, with its yoga classes, free of cost to hotel guests, its gardens, the care it takes with the produce it uses. Rooms are comfortable and have original artwork. Personally, I'd prefer a walk-in shower to a shower over the bath. I also wish that there was a proper chair, with a back, rather than a stool, BUT the wifi is great, the beds are super comfortable, with great linen, the ground coffee and cafetiere are a real bonus, the TV has lots of interesting channels. The staff are beyond reproach, always professional and also friendly and helpful. They seem to like doing what they do."
