However, the room itself was very musty, I instantly filled up, had a sore throat, then got a headache. We stayed two nights, so I purchased my own pillows, opened up the garden door for a couple hours and slept better the second night.
My husband was not bothered by the smell. For me, it was awful. Had I seen recent reviews advising of this, I wouldn’t have chosen...

“Booked this for my granny who was visiting me in Edinburgh. She found the bed very comfortable which is important for her. Breakfast was also delicious with a nice range of hot and cold options. The guest house is in an old building so some things are a bit threadbare but it is well taken care of and clean, and the neighbourhood is very nice and quiet. Duncan was absolutely lovely and so helpful, both in person and over email before/after her stay.”
