"If arriving by train in Alingsas, the Grand Hotel’s location can’t be beaten. Our room was very quiet except for the sound of the squeaky elevator passing the third floor. The housekeeping staff keep the hotel spotless. Other pluses include a comfy bed and a kettle in the room. I love staying in older hotels with charm and character. The Grand Hotel has this in spades. "The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. The staff are extremely kind and helpful, and the breakfast is excellent. I do have just two suggestions I hope can be considered: there is no air conditioning in the room, which made it a bit hot and uncomfortable at times, and there is no refrigerator, so I had to bring some of my items down to the reception."
