“Lovely area. Comfortable. Pleasant staff. Had problems with flies when I was eating.”

“Nice clean room with a good selection of tea and coffee, miniature toiletries in the bathroom and a comfy bed. Lovely breakfast with good options for vegetarian and vegan diets. It is a bar with rooms above so just be aware that especially if staying fri or sat night it is going to be noisy. (They do provide complimentary ear plugs!)”

“The hotel is a bit out of town and very peaceful. Lovely view of the hills. Checkin was friendly and welcoming. Room was rather bland and slightly 1970s, but clean and well kept. Most importantly it was warm a comfortable and I got a good night’s sleep. The bar closed very early which was a shame as I’d arranged to meet a friend at 9pm but by then all was in darkness. “The Cain Valley is steeped in tradition and about as far from todays modern chain hotels as you can get. Great service, fair prices, good beer and enthusiastic staff. Very much a breath of fresh air. Its also well frequented by the locals - which is usually a good sign. but can get a little noisy at closing time. So recommend you ask for a room not over the Public Bar.”
