We arrived late afternoon, there was a sign and typed information to enable us to get to and the accommodation. Chopped wood was prepared and in the fireplace ready for us to ignite it. Heaters in every room, electric blankets on the beds, an ensuite with one bedroom, floor heating in the bathrooms and plenty of supplies for drinks and breakfast, plus extras. We really appreciated sitting in front of the fireplace on comfy couches after a long cold day. We appreciated the homemade preserves and jams. there were three types of cereal, bread, fresh eggs, butter, orange juice and 2 litres of milk in the fridge which meant we could have our early breakfast prior to heading off to work. We would have loved to explore the grounds, watch the animals and dine in the long dining room overlooking the garden. There was a small dining room as well with garden views. The character of this 1800s building has been maintained with the exception of modernised bathrooms with wonderful water pressure. Naturally, old buildings do have some foibles, such as uneven walls, with some damp but it was all part of the charm, there was no musty smells and the heaters kept the rooms dry. We would love to come back and visit at leisure. Well done to the owners.
