If you get a chance to pass by Lyon around December 8th you will not be able to miss the annual Fete des Lumières. For days before and after this date the entite city is lid up with with many houndred more pr less spectacular light installations. Streets are packed but it is worth the effort. Originally the feast dates back to an initiative to thank Virgin Mary for saving the city from the plague or a foreign invasion
