Excellent hotel in a lovely neighborhood. The rooms and beds were comfortable with excellent amenities. The hotel is within walking distance of the Bilbao metro. There is a beautiful plaza Olavides a block away with lots of restaurants.
The stay was pleasant. The staff were very kind. The room was very large and clean. While the decor is a little bit dated, it doesn’t take away much from the stay. The room could get a little stuffy and warm, but the air conditioner was in winter mode so I had to keep the door open more than I would have liked because it’s Madrid which can be a bit loud. I also feel like the breakfast was far too expensive for what was offered. All in all, however, I would stay there again.
I liked this place so much during my first visit a couple of years ago that I stayed again on my next business trip. The rooms are comfortable, the location is terrific, and the staff are very patient with my broken Spanish (but they are also fluent in English). Never had breakfast at the hotel, so can't comment on that. Small suggestion would be that instead of the little bottles of shampoo and bath gel they get the larger kind attached to the wall.
