This is a lovely place to stay and enjoy the village.
So relaxing, great location, and wonderful hosts Silvia and Marcelo.
If you want to explore the Italian Lakes region, and enjoy a village atmosphere, we recommend Mamma Ciccia and Mandello del Lario.

Fantastic place and the staff were super kind and friendly. 10 out of 10.
I never write reviews but I felt I needed to in this instance, because the level of service and care I received at Mamma Ciccia was outstanding for a guesthouse. From the moment you arrive you feel looked after. Plus their restaurant serves amazing food, with the same level of care and attention. The Mamma Ciccia 'family' made my stay feel truly special.
We rented a one bedroom apt on the first floor. It was very comfortable and well equipped. Easy walking distance from train station. Also very close to ferry. Easy to take ferry to Bellagio and transfer to other stops. Breakfast was great. Excellent service. Rooms are located in buildings around but are very close. We ate at Mama Cicicia one night it was delicious. Also tried Osteria on plaza which was great. Lovely couple with local food.
Lovely town. Very nice room. Restaurant at the hotel was one of the best in our travels throughout Italy. Train station is close. Proprietor and all employees extraordinarily friendly and helpful.
Lovely stay at Mama Ciccia's, very comfortable beds, lovely breakfasts in the square, very helpful staff that were able to provide information about a train strike and put my mind at ease. 2 mins walk to the lake front, restaurants and bars. Train station 10 minutes walk. Great location.

Iconic scenic location
Idyllic village with amazing scenery, friendly staff and a fresh breakfast. Our appartment was not very inviting though, damp and two small windows pointing at a wall. Make sure you understand what room/appartment you get.
Had a wonderful stay in this lovely hotel. Fabulously located by the Como lake and its rooms are scattered over a small area. We had breakfast included and it was served adjacent to the reception.
The room, or rather small apartment, had a kitchen area, bathroom and a bedroom. We loved the peaceful area but on w/e there might be some music heard from a pub nearby.
Plenty of good restaurants and a gelateria as well. The town is mainly known for the Guzzi mc museum which can be done as a day trip but I recommend to give it more than that.
Love to return to this excellent place with such nice staff!
We had a great stay at Mamma Ciccia’s. The staff were friendly and very helpful.
The breakfast was delicious offering a choice of pastries, meat and cheese, yogurts and bread. Hot drinks were made to order.
The facilities were perfect. We stayed in a small, very clean, 1 bed apartment with sofa bed in the kitchen area. Location was incredible! Situated on the lake Como in the beautiful area of Mandello del Lario. Lots of little shops, bakeries and restaurants within walking distance and perfect location for the ferry.
We would definitely stay at Mamma Ciccia in the future. Thank you for a great holiday!
I was very pleasantly surprised to see that the apartment interior reflected it's antique surroundings. It's always a bummer when you find an old inn and the inside is decorated in modern furnishings.
Beds are comfortable and there is enough storage. Bedrooms are separated with private bath down the hall. Breakfast is also very nice. We did not get a chance to have other meals here.
This was a very quaint area to stay. We rented a single night for two couples. Our place provided two separate bedrooms and one bath. Probably only disappointment was lack of common area. One bed was comfortable and more firm, the other very soft and “bouncy”.
But for one night, it worked out well. Sweet quiet area, close to Varenna which was fun to visit, and the staff was very helpful and kind.
Breakfast in the morning was a real plus as well.
Nice hotel and facilities in Lake Como. The free parking is a walk away, and it was very full every time: we’re just lucky we found free parking! . The property is well kept, clean and quiet. we got a room in the main house, 2d floor no elevator. The area is very quiet, no shops few restaurants open in May. the house is one block over the area closer to the lake so no lake view was offered. The breakfast had a nice spread, and everyone was very welcoming. Our refrigerator did not work and they said that was al cold as it got (so I hope they change it for the next guest come summertime lol) overall a solid 3.5 star stay. The village is right at the first exit of the tunnels! Beware. We had to drive 20 minutes more to turn around near Belano, and come back! All part of the adventure :) Have fun in Lake Como. I would choose Belano as my base for exploring next time, our village was too quiet for my taste. No shade to the hotel for that!
The friendly team at Mamma Ciccia made us feel very welcome and assisted with a late check in and restaurant booking. The food and service and buffet breakfast were very much appreciated. This is a hidden gem in a gorgeous small lakeside village - an authentic Lake Como experience. Highly recommend.
There is a girl at the front desk who provided us with good tips and greeted us everytime we came in and went out. The breakfast was full of selection. Highly recommended
