The pro’s of this property is the room is comfortable and has everything needed, and the hotel is close to attractions and dining options. Unfortunately the wifi is weak on the second floor where my room was and on the last night while I was eating in the restaurant, I was given an envelope by the manager to put my tip in when I checked out the next day, I was then asked 2 more times about the tip by the manager. This is very poor manners, pushy and made me feel very uncomfortable. A tip should be at the guests discretion, not forced! I hope they take this feedback onboard and change this behaviour.

Dar les Cigognes is superb, the staff is helpful, attentive and generous in the care they show for the guest. I have been many times to Marrakech and this stay was way above all other experiences. Kuddos to all the staff for the loving care they gave to my family and I. Much appreciated.

Muy intrusivo
No me gusto que el equipo es demasiado intrusivo, todo el tiempo están encima de ti, entran a tu cuarto a todas horas para apagar el aire acondicionado. Y me parece que no guardan estándares en el servicio, es demasiado familiar el trato.

The reviews are accurate. This is a great small hotel to use as a base for a few days in Marrakech. Service is excellent. Food so good that we ate dinner once and lunch once as well as every breakfast. Just wish there was a pool. Enjoyed the Hammam as well.

Seven nights of splendor
We are so happy we chose to stay at Dar Les Digognes!! It was a peaceful oasis in the middle of busy Marrakech. Everyone that worked at this beautiful Riad did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. We have traveled to nearly 50 countries and have seldom if ever felt more welcomed. We already miss the wonderful friends we made while we were there. A special thank you to Hayat and Hajiba who helped make our whole trip extra special! We miss you both.

This Riyad is an oasis. The second one steps from the road and into Dar Les Cigognes one is transported to another time, with effusive greetings, delicious peppermint tea, personalised attention and the aroma of rose petals. The guests are brilliant, the architecture is splendid, the food is sensational as is the entire staff, including Mme Hayat, Hajiba, Abdoud, Youssef, Aziz, Hamid and of course Khadiya.

I can’t imagine being at a better locale than Dar Les Cigonws. Hayat and the rest of the team were more than first rate — they made you feel like cherished family. The property is immaculate and well appointed. The location is tremendous - close enough to easily and quickly walk to any place in the Medina, but not right in the middle where it would be loud for all hours. This was, literally, one of the best experiences of my life, and I have been to over 60 countries.

I did not plan to stay here, but I was allocated Dar Les Cigognes because another booking had problems. However it was absolutely fantastic. A haven of peace and tranquility with very kind and attentive staff giving excellent food and drink. Incredibly hospitable.

Comfortable riad in good location
Great place in a central location with very friendly staff. They're around all the time and assist with anything you might need. Clean, very good standard.

Perfect location and wonderful service!
Our stay at Dar Les Cignognes was wonderful. The staff there are among the best I've seen, anywhere. They really make you feel like family. The rooftop patio is a great, quiet oasis from the craziness of the city. It's a lovely, traditional Road. Very intimate. In terms of location, it's great. About 10 minutes walk from the Jemaa el Fna. Very close to the palaces. They offer all kinds of options - cooking classes, massages, fine dining. My wife had a massage and loved it. I highly recommend Dar Les Cignognes!

This hotel was not understanding at all and would not refund my hotel (not even partially). Hotels that don’t have any compassion or care for their guests’ health or well-being don’t deserve anyone’s business.

ARNAQUE ?? Nous avons réservé et réglé à l'avance notre séjour de 4 nuits à Dar les Cigognes. A notre arrivée , la manager de l'hôtel nous a informés qu'elle ne nous pouvait nous accueillir que la première nuit. Elle nous a relogés dans un autre hôtel beaucoup plus excentré, au bout de la casbah, le Riad Daria.Cet hôtel était certes correct mais n'avait ni le standing ni les prestations de l'hôtel que nous avons payé. Aucun remboursement ne nous a été fait, elle nous a offert un diner.

La nostra esperienza è stata bellissima. Abbiamo goduto di questa "casa" e della sua magica atmosfera marocchina. Eravamo in 6 amiche e quindi non è semplice avere uno standard che vada bene per tutte! Anche quando ci sono state delle piccole incomprensioni (come spesso può capitare viaggiando) queste sono state gestite in maniera impeccabile, con professionalità e spirito organizzativo. Grazie alla cortesia e alla sollecitudine del personale in capo alla struttura.

Lovely weekend stay
Having stayed in various riads in Marrakech, this one is absolutely lovely - the riad itself spread across two buildings is an oasis of calm in the city and the staff are what make it - sooo lovely and welcoming.

Was the best place I’ve stayed in Marrakesh—better than Maison Arabe. Décor was simple and beautiful with spare soothing lines. Staff were particularly friendly and solicitous to our group. Location was v convenient. Really great place!

Komfortables Wohnen in historischen Gemäuern!
Kleiner, persönlicher Riad (ehemaliger Stadtpalast) mit nur 11 Zimmern. Bauartgemäß kein Lift oder ähnl. behindertengerechte Einrichtungen. Überaus freundliches, hilfsbereites Personal, das versucht, einem jeden Wunsch von den Augen abzulesen. Hier besonders zu erwähnen: "Hayat", die Empfangschefin(?). Gerne werden auch Ausflüge organisiert oder es gibt Tipps für die Gestaltung des Marokko-Aufenthalts. Daß kein Fernseher den historischen Charme des (klimatiesierten) Zimmers zerstört, war uns sehr recht, manchem wird er vielleicht fehlen.

Charming hotel
This hotel was a completely charming stay. The service provided by Hayet and her staff makes it easy to feel totally comfortable and get the most of a visit to Marrakesh. The full service provided by the staff was fantastic and the room we stayed in was perfect, beautifully designed, and provided great peace after our days walking around the medina. We will absolutely stay again when we return to Marrakech!

Pretty riad, central location, great staff
Pretty riad, centrally located but far enough from the hustle and bustle of the souk for some peace. Lovely roof terrace. Staff can’t do enough for you and make you feel very special and at home. Only downside, while the food was tasty, the quality was not as good as restaurants in town but priced the same. Also the hotel driver is quite expensive for transfers/trips compared to local taxis but staff are happy to arrange the latter for you instead.

Riad totalmente recomendable para aquellos que les guste hospedarse en lugares con tradición y cultura. El lugar es una casa muy bonita con habitaciones espaciosas y con muy linda decoración. El personal es muy amable y siempre están muy atentos y dispuestos a ayudar en todo lo que puedan. Está muy bien ubicado, cerca de muchos lugares turísticos de obligada visita. No tuvimos problemas con temas de seguridad. Todo muy bien

magnificent, nicely decorated, very romantic hotel
we had a very pleasent stay here. The staff were so friendly, helpful and sweet, Every day the room was cleaned. The food was very tasty, we had breakfast and dinner here. The hotel is within walking distance of several attractions. in the old part of Marrakesh. The hotel is a refreshing welcome when you come from outside, a peaceful oasis it seems, and there is a courtyard with different seating areas. Wonderfull terras with lots of flowers. There is no elevator, but they carry your luggage to the top. There is no minibar in the room, but we were allowed to put our medication in the refrigerator. We had 3 characteristic rooms, pure Moroccan style. beautifull. We made a trip through the neighborhood with a carriage. It is good to this as to do first, then you have already a list of what you want to do.

Really super Riad close enough to get to the Medina in under 10 minutes. Welcoming and helpful staff and I highly recommend. Enjoyed the hammam experience in the hotel grounds, breakfast options were good in fact all the food we ate here was superb.

Exceptionally Awful!
Avoid this Riad/hotel 100%...much better ones all over town. We had an awful time here and would never return. The food is ok-ish, service is terrible. You feel like you are just being watched all the time and that they just want your money. They even told us this, "spend all your money here". Not professional at all. The spa is a joke, lazy lazy staff. Go to a professional spa....with better service and prices. Book here at your own risk...you've been warned.

Amazing riad for style and service. The terrace view over storks' nest are unique. Only one grey area...bed comfort in my Safary room was not the greates but the room decor, atmosphere and cleanliness were top.

Wonderful oasis of calm
Absolutely wonderful experience. The staff was fantastic (welcoming, friendly, helpful, etc) in every respect. The place itself was conveniently located and perfect for enjoyment and relaxation. Will definitely return anytime I'm in Marrakech.

Lovely boutique riad, great location
This is a charming riad located next to the Badi Palace, and within 15 minutes' walk to the Jemaa el Fna and the souks. The staff at Dar Les Cigognes are wonderfully hospitable and did everything to accommodate our needs. Our suite was spacious and well-decorated and the lovely argan oil toiletries were replenished every day of our 6-night stay. Breakfast on the terrace was fulsome --- the petit dejeuner complet has everything you could possibly want (fruit, selection of breads, Moroccan crepes, pancakes, cake, omelette, yoghurt, coffee, tea and orange juice) --- and the Salt Restaurant offers an excellent 5-course set menu every night that provides a Moroccan gourmet experience without requiring you to set foot outside of the riad. Perfect for those evenings when the bustle of the souks become too much. We would recommend this riad to Marrakech visitors wanting a boutique hotel experience at reasonable prices.

Perfect location. We really liked the place.
Excellent experience and very nice staff and specially manager she was very helpful and super friendly. However breakfast was not included I' m afraid and jacuzzi facilities was extra. Even tho we been told it's free.

Très bon séjour je recommande vivement j'y retournerais en famille l'équipe est au top aux petits soins pour vous très beau Riad avec de l'histoire j'ai passé un très bon séjour de cinq jours

disappointing
read about the Expedia 2015 excellence prize etc... but was not what we though: Staff is not well trained.. they did not answer phone as we called for 30min looking for directions since there was construction nearby.. service was overall not 5* level at all.. rooms need some face lifts.. At least the one we stayed in ( red)....however greta roof top.. and very convenient location

disappointing
based on reviews, other luxury riads we stayed in and Expedia prize award from 2015, we were disappointed : first there was construction and we got lost and we called for 20min on their landline, no pick up... Second: Some rooms need a face lift.. Third, , Staff watched us leave carrying bags and didn't offer help.. the front desk lady did not know where the toilets were! breakfast's Staff blouses were not spotless... and finally, every riad I stayed in, had breakfast included, here we had to pay about $40 extra for bfast.. we recommend including it in the listed price like the vast majority of riads...so prospective clients have full disclosure

Thank you for your feedback. We have found that most guests prefer to have the choice for breakfast and other meals, which is why we have had a la carte options as well as various board packages.
