It was quiet, and Good Staff, Easy check inn, and check out, The Room was clean, A Beautifull place to stay
Loved it was a great place right in the middle with excellent views near the San Juan river...The stars at night were amazing we even got to see the Milky way
If they could add more picnic tables that would be nice and also a light switch for each room for the light outside ,the night view in this place is really cool.
Nice clean motel. Friendly check-in person. Room was spacious for 3 adults for 1 night. Husband tried out the pool and hot tub - both were clean. The only thing negative was the shower curtain, which had a mildewy smell.
Don’t let the front façade of this motel fool you. The rooms were completely renovated and very well done. The pool and lounge area was great with very comfortable seating outside. The outside views were great and the night sky was great for stargazing.
At first arrival the property looks like a roadside hotel and our expectations were not high. However the room is very clean, very comfortable, we were pleasantly surprised. We would recommend this hotel.

This is an older motel. It has been remodeled but still just outdated. The pool was nice. Convenient for our travels.
The outside doesn’t look spectacular but the room was! The king sized bed was majorly comfortable with a nice thick comforter. The room looked recently updated. It had all the necessary things: fridge, microwave, keurig. But the star was the bed!
This is a hidden gem! Was not expecting such a wonderful room at this motel. Be sure to ask for a room at the back. It overlooks the San Juan River. There are only a few motels here, but this would be the one I would choose if I were to return. No restaurant but there are a couple of options just down the street.
The room was big and renovated and incredibly clean. The pool was outstanding, nice and cool and the view amazing. It sits right on the river and they really took advantage of the view. There isn’t much nearby for food or beverage so you need to plan accordingly but that isn’t the fault of the motel.
It was tough to find somewhere to stay near Monument Valley, but I was pleasantly surprised with Hat Rock Inn! The rooms were very clean, felt recently renovated, beds were comfy. Overall a quiet, simple stay. Would definitely stay here again!
We really enjoyed our stay in Mexican Hat while visiting Monument Valley! The property is a little dated, but everything was clean, and the beds, sheets, and pillows were incredibly comfortable. The air conditioner was a bit loud, but overall, we had a very comfortable stay.
The pool and hot tub were wonderful additions, especially after a long day of hiking and driving. Sitting by the fire and watching the Milky Way was a highlight!
The location was convenient, with Monument Valley about 20 minutes away and a great restaurant next door for steak lovers. It’s an excellent option if you want to explore the area without paying the higher prices of staying right in Monument Valley.
Our only disappointment was that the front desk welcome could have been warmer and friendlier. The property itself was great, though, and we left wishing we had booked more than one night!
A very friendly welcome from the guy on front desk, clean accommodation (I am very fussy!) and super comfy bed. The sunset and views are unbeatable, watching the storms over the mountains sat facing the river was dreamy. I’d highly recommend staying and would absolutely return. The price was great especially compared to other properties along the route of the national parks.
Older rustic motel style stay! Really enjoyed the stay and staff very courteous. Definitely recommend if passing through or visiting near Monument Valley
This was a great one night stay as we were enjoying the area wonders! It was clean and the hot tub was a plus after a long day of hiking. The view is amazing.
