“From the minute we stepped inside we were welcomed by friendly helpful staff. The rooms were clean and roomy. The food was excellent and the dining room service was excellent…..evening meal and breakfast. The views were incredible, the location was beautiful. Would definitely stay again and would definite, recommend, 100%.”

“It’s a no frills room so I thought a tad expensive but the shower leaves something to be desired, scalding hot or freezing cold, your choice and don’t try turning, you will bruise something. Staff were nice and the room was clean and we had a decent breakfast. I’m irked by the shower”

“The only downside was breakfast only one staff member to take order and cook as well which meant the self service area was not restocked so there was no juice or cutlery left so had to improvise. Area very small had to move table backwards and forwards to get legs under table from both sides. Long wait for breakfast and only one piece of toast would be better with 2. “The place is iconic and is a realistic representation of a Dales Coaching Inn. Situation is bleak sat in the middle of miles of rough Yorkshire Moors.”

Personally preferred the bar food to Palmers. Service was variable but most staff were very attentive. Room was comfortable, especially the bed, great shower, large TV. “The cleaner was fantastic, really helpful, friendly and efficient, if only other staff members had an ounce of what she has my review may have been different. The initial room smelt damp and fusty, to the extent of triggering coughs. The shower was cold and the shower drain was blocked so spilled over. “Great single room with en suite shower. This is a pub/restaurant/hotel but no noise disturbance even at the weekend. Staff all friendly and happy to help. Sunday roast was huge and very tasty. Would defo stay again if in the area.”
