There is lack of back up Power during load shedding. There is no water during load shedding as they only use borehole water. We had no water and couldn’t shower, the staff was unhelpful.

Week-end trip
Beautiful property with lots of space and fresh air. Very comfortable accommodation. Loved seeing all the animals.

No water, very limited electricty one plug in the room. No communication regarding the fact that there was no water available. No place to leave the door key card wheb we left

Spacious room and fireplace in room is a bonus
Lovely stay, with fireplace in room a bonus on a cold winter evening. Bedding fresh and clean. Beautiful venue. We enjoyed our stay and will defnitely book again

We enjoyed our stay at St Ives. The staff were so polite and helpful. One staff member (David) came by to check that everything was alright with our room and then offered to make a fire in our veranda grill stove while we went out to buy meat for dinner. When we came back from the store there was a wonderful fire there, ready for us to start grilling immediately. What service!

BORING BROWN
It was raining very hard and we had to run to our room in the rain, there is no cover to the rooms. The rooms are boring, brown and terracota, there is no special attention given to the rooms or bathroom. The pillows are way too high so you cant get comfortable.

What a lovely place, and the wildlife was absolutely spectacular. Really enjoyed our stay and the barman and the staff at the Boma were OUTSTANDING.

We only had electricity in one or two lamps our entire weekend, whether load shedding was on or off. Even when we heard the generator running, will still didn’t have lights, kettle, etc. We still had lovely hot water, so it was all a bit strange. Thank goodness for a lovely fire and early nights.

Clean, spacious and beautiful surroundings.

Relaxing and Peaceful Stay.
The place was very peaceful and beautiful. Very relaxing. Included breakfast would have been appreciated, especially since the rates are quite high.

St ives stay
I enjoyed my stay in st ives , we stayed in one of rhe luxury suites and it was clean , spacious and tidy but my favourite thing about at ives was the luscious green acres of land sprawiling with zebras , duikers and game. I enjoyed running in the morning on the premises on the vitality trail and going for a dip in the pool after. I will definitely be heading back 3🙂

Rooom didn’t look like the picture. We only stayed 1night, didn’t have breakfast there as we had to leave early. They did pack us a breakfast pack though. Not bad for a one night sleep over.

We stayed over for one night and enjoyed it very much. The breakfast was average with not much variety but there was enough. The luxury suites are enormous and with a lovely view over the valley. A most relaxing and comfortable stay.

St Ives great family base for the Midlands Meander
St Ives is perfectly located near Midmar, and directly across the road from Piggly Wiggly. It makes a great base to explore the Midlands Meander. Rooms are clean and well maintained. Staff service is very good and the breakfast at the lake side restaurant is great!!

Great base to Explore the Midlands Meander
St Ives is a great place to use as a base to explore the Midlands Meander. The property is home to Wildebeest, Zebra, Blesbok & Impala which are always a hit with kids. The units are kept clean and have everything you need, as breakfast is provided at the lakeside restaurant. For dinner there is the choice of the Boma Restaurant which is on the property, or a number of nearby restaurants. St Ives is conveniently located near Midmar, and being directly across the road from Piggly Wiggly is also a plus! We will be back!!

Our stay at St Ives
We absolutely loved our stay at St Ives! It's the second time we've stayed there, & we'll certainly go again. We love the bird life & the various antelope & zebra that greet us every morning. It's a good idea to bring your own braai tongs, a dish for meat & a salad bowl or plastic dish if you're planning to barbecue, because these items are not provided in the units. Mind you, if one asked I'm sure that these items would be available. Everything else was lovely!

Fireplace was brandnew so when we used it the vent was closed & smoked up the room & but once we figured out how to open the vent it was great.

Zeer mooi hotel op een mooie locatie. Leuk om hier wat rond te wandelen. Kamers zijn super en van alle gemakken voorzien. Ik zou hier echter alleen verblijven op doorreis. Ontbijt was ook top!

Well located hotel with friendly staff.
Room clean, comfortable and good value for money. Lovely to see zebra, wilderbeast and kudu roaming in the large grounds outside the room. Restaurant, including breakfast, was great. Well located for Nelson Mandela capture sight on the 'Midlands Meander' and not too far away for a day out in Durban. Excellent family accommodation. Only downside is size of pool.

KZN Midlands - A little piece of paradise
It was lovely and peaceful, with Zebras, Blessbok and Wildebeest roaming freely in the gardens. Beautiful!.
