Gemütliche Unterkunft in ruhiger Lage

Wir waren im Jahr 2020 schon einmal auf der Rückreise nach Johannesburg in dieser Unterkunft und sehr zufrieden. Die Anreise gestaltete sich diesmal als echtes Abenteuer, da die Kohle-Trucks die Straßen (N2 und innerorts von Piet Retief) derart zerstört haben, dass es mehr Schlaglöcher (gerne auch 30 cm tief) gibt als Belag. Umso schöner, dass man von dem Höllenverkehr im B&B nichts mitbekommt. Die frühere Betreiberin (eine ältere Dame) ist leider verstorben und ein junges Team hat übernommen. Der Empfang ist aber ebenso herzlich geblieben wie der Service gut. Die Zimmer sind sicherlich nicht luxuriös ausgestattet, bieten aber guten Komfort. Sie sind geräumig und sauber, das Bad großzügig. Die täglichen geplanten Stromabschaltungen (Load Shedding) werden tagsüber teilweise von einem Generator kompensiert, nachts gibt es aber stundenlang keinen Strom. Das sollte man bedenken, wenn man seine Elektrogeräte aufladen möchte. Insgesamt stimmt das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis. Wir kommen wieder.

Pleasantly surprised! Overall first impression of the premises was great. Our unit was clean, nicely furnished and fresh after a long drive. The pool area was also neatly kept and we enjoyed cooling off.

Very nice b&b, only complaint breakfast served to early. I suggest an option for with or without breakfast, when you drive lots to get there, you not ready for breakfast before 8:30 in the morning.
